PSA: New Monthly Vox Pop Prize

Posted on Thursday, June 21 @ 15:52:30 Eastern by

(Mmm... I'm hungry now.)

I'm not sure how many people look at the Vox Pop side panel, since we haven't given a lot of attention to it for a while. Some of you might not even know what Vox Pop is, so let me dish out the details.

On the first of every month, we'll award the author of the best Vox Pop entry in the prior month a choice of a $20 code for XBLA, PSN, or Steam through their PM inbox or email. It's just our way of saying thank you for making Game Revolution so awesome. Have you read wildmario's "Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft: A Retrospective Review"?

Wait, what's Vox Pop, you say? Vox Pop is our way of featuring your content on our site, in the both the Vox Pop side panel on the right but also as an item in Game Revolution's main stream of news and features.

Anything you write in your blog is a submission for the contest. Length is not that much of a concern, but we are definitely looking for strong posts that can be featured on our front page. That's mainly editorials on video games but we like any kind of video game-related content, be it artwork, music, even poetry. A collection of haikus? We want it!

We're also feature posts from GR staff members, but we won't count them in our new Vox Pop contest out of fairness. We'll definitely feature your entries for a longer time than our own.

It's always fun writing what's on your mind here. It encourages lots of great discussion regarding video games and I hope to have more things to write about.
