Screw Candy, Give Plants Vs. Zombies Out On Halloween

Posted on Tuesday, September 11 @ 09:12:38 Eastern by

Zombies are little more than rotting corpses, whose sole purpose is to devour brains. Candy rots your teeth. Get the correlation?

The American Dental Association has teamed up with PopCap Games in an attempt to "stop zombie mouth", or rotting teeth and cavities due to overindulgence in candy that most children partake in each and every Halloween.

While I can't imagine trick or treating and not coming home with a bag full of sweet treats, being treated to a free PC or Mac version of Plants Vs. Zombies will provide a lot more fun. And with all the cherries, walnuts, peas, and other healthy fruits and veggies found in the game, it may just inspire healthier long-term eating habits.

Probably not.

But still, this is a surefire way to avoid getting egged and toilet papered, if you're giving out one of the best, most-addictive games I've played in the last ten years.

You can find out more information by visiting StopZombieMouth.com, where you can find printable vouchers with codes to download a free PC or Mac copy of Plants Vs. Zombies to give out to trick or treaters on Halloween.

Seriously, I was planning on turning my lawn into a PvZ spread for Halloween this year. Now, knowing this, it will bring the entire theme together. I'm even going to play the PvZ theme through speakers on a loop. I'll take pics or it didn't happen.

To clarify, when i first read the article i assumed that the way it works is that you pay some small price and get a bunch of codes to give out with a limited number per customer.

I'd much prefer it on iPhone. I can't afford $2,99 so I'm stuck playing Zombies vs Aliens :(

"Okay guys, Steam is kicking our lunch and eating our ass. How can we increase the install base of Origin by hundreds of thousands while simultaneously capturing the demographic with the highest potential customer lifetime value, the lowest understanding of lock-in consequences, and the least spend discretion, all within a single evening, leveraging an asset we purchased because we had no hope in hell of competing in their space otherwise?

    ...Anyone?"

^And we the entire thing becomes a tax write-off as a charitable donation thanks to the ADA partnership, I might add. No surprise to me they price the game at $19.99. This is a home-****ing-run on all fronts--someone got a promotion for this, I promise you.

Hey, releasing a game for free? That's madness, companies don't do that unless there's a sequel around the corner, like with Portal or inFAMOUS (During that Welcome Back After the Hack deal thing).

    Wait a minute....
