In a world dominated by violent media, Americans are no more eager to go to war than they were in the 1980s or the 1960s or the 1940s. Hasn't it always been someone else's problem? The overwhelming majority would rather go on thinking it had nothing to do with them and there...

Steelers Win Virtual Superbowl

Posted on Tuesday, February 1 @ 13:00:00 Eastern by
I've tried to play Madden. Really, I have. I don't get it. As a simulation I commend it for its accuracy, but the way people are fans of Madden like they're fans of a football team makes no sense to me.

Still, another season passes, another Madden game gets to predict the super bowl outcome. Betters line up at their local bookies, offices pass around the brackets, and I eat tons of junk food.

It's like Thanksgiving but with less family and even more gluttony, if that's possible.

If you haven't placed your bet on a spread yet, you might like to know that the Steelers will win the superbowl by four points, edging out the Packers 24-20. The full breakdown by quarter is below, but right now... you'll have to excuse me while I find my elastic waist band pants. Where'd I put those things....

1st Quarter
12:37 PIT FG S. Suisham missed 41 Yd
7:58 PIT INT T. Polamalu, Intercepts ball on own 43
2:55 PIT TD R. Mendenhall, 2 Yd run (Suisham kick)
2nd Quarter
12:41 PIT FG S. Suisham, 32 Yd FG
8:46 GB FG M. Crosby missed 44 Yd FG
1:29 GB INT A.J. Hawk, Intercepts ball on Pittsburgh 39
0:26 GB TD G. Jennings, 12 Yd pass from A. Rodgers (M. Crosby kick)
3rd Quarter
8:59 PIT TD H. Ward, 17 Yd pass from B. Roethlisberger (Suisham kick)
5:10 GB FG M. Crosby, 49 Yd FG
1:16 GB FG M. Crosby, 38 Yd FG
4th Quarter
9:00 GB TD J. Jones, 9 Yd pass from A. Rodgers (M. Crosby kick)
1:20 PIT TD M. Wallace, 36 Yd pass from B. Roethlisberger (Suisham kick)
0:20 PIT INT R. Clark, Intercepts ball on own 20
