Tell GR: Best GameBoy Soundtrack?

Posted on Wednesday, November 9 @ 17:27:26 Eastern by

Above, you'll find my very favorite track from the entire catalog of Game Boy soundtracks. In 1995, I finally accomplished the impossible. I beat Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Back from the Sewers. At seven years old, I felt like a total bad ass. Hearing this track now, I still feel like a seven year old bad ass.

There are tons and tons of video game music out there, but I'm wondering what your favorite Game Boy music is. Remember in order to post links in the comments REMOVE http://www. from the link. Here's an example:

What's your favorite Game Boy Music track (remixes welcome!)?

I still have 'Fever' and 'Chill' from Dr. Mario randomly play in my head for no reason. Same can be said of Tetris' Korobeiniki.

I'd have to say the Dark Cave/Slowpoke Well/Ice Path theme from Pokemon Gold & Silver:

Either that or the two champion battle themes:

Star Trek: The Next Generation. This was as close as a boy could get to being captain of the USS Enterprise-D in 1993. I even had that screen magnifier/light attachment for it!

I have to agree with Tetris. Sure it's only a couple short songs, depending on what you choose - but whenever I have to clean my room, help a friend move, or read Russian Lit, that damned tetris song gets in my head. Makes me feel motivated. Makes me feel smart.

It's like my Eye Of The Tiger. Never will that song leave me. Although I agree Kirby's Dreamland and Super Mario Land have solid sound tracks, neither will have that same raw power that Tetris has.

The Super Smash Land soundtrack. ;)
Does that count? In particular, I like how it remixed some songs in SSBB in 8-bit, but also the song "Luna's Ascension" from "Tower of Heaven" is just a bad-ass Gameboy-styled song.

    Final Fantasy Legend.
Just sit back and chill to the opening theme. You need headphones, since it really used stereo separation well.
