Tell GR: How Can The Next Xbox Beat The PS4?

It has to release before the PS4 to win the money race. Simple.

Offer some classic titles free similar to Sony's paid service. Or bundle a year of Netflix with a Gold membership. Offer FTP titles, well, for free. Focus on securing top tier titles, hardware can come second, but at the same time offer a nice upgrade in graphical capabilities while keeping the 300 to 400 dollar price point. Oh, and give us a proper KOTOR 3 exclusive.

Its got to play you know games.

I don't think either one will win on specs along, the graphics will look great on both.

I assume the new Xbox will finally be able to play BluRay, so PS won't have that advantage anymore.

Free online play is still a big plus in PS favour. I only occasionally play online, so I'm not going to pay for it. For those who do play online enough to make a subscription worthwhile, we'll have to wait and see who has the better paid online experience.

I think the biggest factor will be the exclusive games.

By allowing xbox live integration with windows 8 while having the console run windows 8. Make it so developers can release on windows 8 and the console at the same time and for the two gaming parties to play together online. Make it so if you buy a game you could play it either on your new xbox or your windows 8 pc.

Good games (hoping for RPGs), good graphics, built in memory. Want a stripped down version with none of that Kinect crap. Hoping always online and no used games are rumors. Backwards comparability would be a nice bonus too. Oh, and good build quality. I have a 360 that is 6 years old and never got the RROD, but it sounds like it is very common. Big first party titles, no g/d RROD debacles, continued xbl security (free xbl would be better with a premium service like the PSN), and not trying to force the market someplace gamers don't want it to go.

Well, in one article it was mentioned of different levels of members for PS4. So, if Sony announces people will have to pay for its service, Microsoft may win due to how it's social online is pretty solid right now unlike PSN.

Halo, and cornering the FPS market again (which Halo helps do). There will need to be an innovation in gameplay again to keep interest levels though. Playing against PC users would help towards this end (credit to Sourdeez).

I don't want to be an ass. But competing against a PC user, in an FPS, from a console (without keyboard+mouse that is) - guess who will always win. All I can say it won't be fun for anyone. But if it's anything else besides FPS or RTS - i'm in for that.

One answer is very straightforward and conventional. A 'more walls, more bars, more guards' type solution. More RAM, a faster processor, an OS with less overhead than the PS4, better architecture. Better integration of extraneous features and the ability to disable any to free up more resources for games. These aren't going to win out the starting gate, of course. It wasn't immediately obvious when the PS3 launched that, from the developer's perspective, the 360 was the friendlier system. It didn't become obvious how limited its hardware implementation was until relatively near the end of its cycle when games started crashing into those limitations like bullet trains.

How can it win? Well, I know how it can avoid screwing up - it shouldn't lose/ignore its core base.
