LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Everything I Learned About Call of Duty: Ghosts Last Week
I wasn't allowed to talk about the new Infinity Ward game last week when I met with Activision, and I don't have much to say now that Xbox One spilled the beans.

Tell GR: What PSOne Classics Are Must-Own?

Posted on Monday, August 27 @ 10:28:29 Eastern by

Tomorrow, (or more than likely, overnight tonight) PlayStation Vita firmware update 1.80 will become available for download, allowing support for the vast library of PSOne Classics already available on the PlayStation Network.

Tell GR: Vita owner or not, which PSOne Classics are must-haves, and the first games Vita owners should load up first when the update becomes available?

I would imagine (as someone who doesn't dislike crash) that it's because they're basically 2D games that are in 3D, and that's a pretty valid criticism.

This. Big fan of Final Fantasy Tactics, too. MGS and the other FF's didn't hold up as well over time for me. But these two PSOne Classics did.

There's the obvious stuff, of course: Square has a great collection on PSOne Classics, and not just the PS1 Final Fantasy games. Xenogears and Vagrant Story, overlooked and somewhat difficult to get a hold of games that are absolutely worth the purchase, and Chrono Cross is every bit its forebear's prequel. Other mega-sellers like the Crash Bandicoot games, Metal Gear Solid, and the Resident Evil games all hold up pretty well too.

Easier to overlook but just as worthwhile are the first two Oddworld games, which are just as charming, fun, frustrating and unique as they were on release. Klonoa is also great, and Symphony of the Night is another difficult to find classic.

First and foremost, Metal Gear Solid.

When you're done with that, play it again.

Yeah, if I were going to get FF Tactics on my Vita that'd be the version I would get. I receommend it highly to people who have already played the original. The updates are a worth a look, though the lag *is* kind of a pain in the butt. I guess that's one advantage the original has.

I really tried to like Armored core, but the controls were just so awful. I absolutely could not get used to using the shoulder buttons to look up and down.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2 need to be on there. They are classic PS1 games and are just amazing. I would love to have them on my PSP, and eventually Vita when i get one....plus on my PS3 i guess.

Also the Spyro the Dragon 1, 2 and 3 are must own Playstation games. Crash Team Racing is an awesome one too. CTR and Spyro 1 were my first playstation games.

    If you like JRPGs, you should probably play Xenogears. I'm not saying you'll love it, just saying it's a game that should be played by JRPG fans. *I* happen to love though. ^^;

If nobody else will mention it: Tomba! Such a great game.

Beyond that, FFT, Vagrant Story, and Medievil. Never enough love for them in my experience.

I think that I'm going to have to agree with several of people here and chim in: Final Fantasy 7 and Xenogears. That aside, I think that there are a few others that should join the list in my personal opinion. They are: 1. Jet Moto 2. Sledge Storm 3. Twisted Metal 2 4. Cool Boaders 5. Colony Wars 6. Legend of Dragoon. 8. Driver

Team Buddies, its a little known gem but it is one hell of a multi player game and solid single player.
Speaking of multi player, micro machines V3, well worth the pain of trying to organize 2 multitaps, 8 controllers and 8 people.
