LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Tell GR: What's On Your Christmas List?

Posted on Wednesday, December 21 @ 08:17:16 Eastern by

Come now, sit on GR's warm and ample lap, get comfy (but not too comfy, weirdo), and tell us what you asked for this year.

2011 was a banner year for our favorite hobby. To buy every game worthwhile would put even good ole' Saint Nick in the poor house. There's bound to be a few you missed or held out for, which you'll be asking Santa to shimmy down the chimney and stuff under your Christmas tree right next to the pair of socks your parents bought you.

Tell GameRevolution: What's on your Christmas list? We'll check our list twice and tell you if you've been nice enough (or naughty enough) to get what you're asking for.

Hmm, I would probably want Rocksmith. Jessica's review makes me think it might be worthwhile, but the price is too high and you would need an actual guitar still. Unless, you could use the other peripherals.

As for Santa...we all know what actually happened to him.

You can get the "special" edition or whatever it is that comes with the adapter that allows to use any electric guitar. Then hit up craigslist or ebay. Also, search Amazon for "Rise of the six string" there is a bundle for less then $40 (game and guitar). If you don't like the song list in it, you can get "Rocksmith" by itself. That's what I did.

The only game that I let it be known that I wanted was MW3 (which I already know I'm getting). However, I have my own little list of games I want for after-Christmas shopping. It includes Batman: AC, Deus Ex: HR, Dark Souls, and maybe Space Marine if it is marked down enough. Skyrim & BF3 finally killed my Xbox controller battery, so I need to pick up a new one of those too.

The only thing I want this year is a 3DS. My DS Lite is on its last legs (Battery charge doesn't last as long as it used to). Had it for 6 years and I think it is time I should upgrade so I can start getting the new games coming out while still holding onto my DS library.

I want the Zelda. It shall make my Sword point Skyward.

Also, I want an LED 240 hz tv, but I'll have to pay for that myself.

I've already received my Christmas gifts:
    Dark Souls Collector's
    Batman: A. Asylum GotY
    Valkyria Chronicles

Not yet received but I know it's there below the tree: A book.

I'm getting my PS3 backlog from not having one for a very long time.

    Mirror's Edge
    Heavy Rain
    Ico and SoC HD

Skyrim and Dark Souls with any money I receive.

Now to ask Santa for more time.

I've only played like 20 mins of Heavy Rain, but it is enough to recommend you play it before any other game on that list (and also it will be shorter than everything except Mirror's Edge probably)

Glad I'm not the only one with "old" games still on my must-play list.
Ico and SotC are two of the most artistic games I've ever played, I had to make sure to get an older PS3 so I could still play them (before the HD versions came out).

I'm building a 4 keg keezer (chest freezer+kegerator) so I already know I'm getting kegs, a co2 tank and the conversion kit.

Video game wise I want Batman AC, Zelda: Swordward Sky and Saints Row the third

Nothing. The over commercialization of the holiday season has finally convinced me to stop participating. I won't be buying anything for anyone, and I've requested that anyone tempted to buy me anything to please refrain.

Not that it will stop me from taking advantage of a good sale now and then though.

Noire, Red Dead Redemption, Tron: Evolution, Dirt 3. Just because I have a lot of stuff on my list doesn't mean I get it all I let who ever is buying choose so it's a surprise.

I got what I asked for, Rayman Origins and MW3, since I pretty much have everything that's came out recently that's been decent except for Skyrim which I still haven't even tried out.

Dark Souls still has control of my PS3 though... >.
