Tell GR: What's The Worst Company In America?

Posted on Wednesday, April 4 @ 19:21:15 Eastern by

OK, so the rest of the internet has had their vote, but we live in our own little world here at GameRevolution. Seriously, it's tiny and we shut all the doors and blinds so that there's no glare on the TV. Besides, we don't give a shit what everyone else says.

Tell GameRevolution is all about what YOU say. I'm partial to laying the title of "Worst Company In America" on the entire financial institution in this country. All of it. Fannie, Freddie, Manny... I don't give a shit. All those guys dealing with derivatives are a bunch of dicks, but like I said, we want to know what you think, so...

What's the worst company in America (or whatever country you live in)?

Apple. It is making the world collectively dumber. Also, it was holding onto all that cash which does not make financial sense.

I do own an Ipod & Iphone.

Simple, intuitive software and hardware =/= making people dumber.

The main goal of science is to make things easier for human beings. If anything Apple are doing an outstanding job outside of their poor outsourcing conditions.

Does having a computer do everything make a person smarter? I think it expands the potential of a persons abilities but in the same sense dumbs them down.

Main goal =/= profitable goal. The main goal of science is to explain things, not "make things easier for human beings". If every scientist thought like that, we'd be truly effed.

That said, Apple software and OS have excellent UI from what I've used of them. Then again, I'm sending this from an eight year old PC running XP.

Main goal of a business = profit. Business fueled by science = science for profit.

Definitely not anything to do with video games. I don't think you can really call a company that produces luxuries bad in the grand scheme of things.

So much evil to choose from. Unless the GOP can be considered a company, I'd probably have to go with Goldman Sachs. Even before the "muppet" incident, they embodied a company that doesn't care about anything but profits. They've shown a complete disregard for their clients, the law, their shareholders, and the country.

EA followed by Microsoft. I deal with both on a weekly basis and I am confident in my choice. Third place is a DISTANT third. EA and Microsoft are genuinely horrible.

    Monsanto, GE, Dupont, Boeing, Kraft.

Companies who make bad video game endings, software, and shady DLC deals being evil is bullsh*t. Companies who feed you crap or manufacture things to kill you are evil.

Worst company of all time? I don't know EA games aren't the worst. Worst VIDEO GAME company? EA for sure. Online passes, Origin, installation limits, and invasive DRM. C'mon, what other video game company give its customers as much **** as EA does? Ubisoft?

Whatever company makes the Q Ray bracelet. As bad as EA might be the Q Ray has made millions of dollars fron selling something that does nothing. Nothing figurative about it. Literally. Does. Nothing.

Let's see here. Worst game company all time, GameStop. From what I heard from from different employee and/or formal employees, they get treated like crap. Not only that, they're deals suck, most of the time. The customer service is crap. What kind of company ships you a pre-owned game, console, whatever and doesn't work? I know the meaning of caveat emptor, but man, they claim their pre-owned products works. The first time I ordered a pre-owned Xbox 360, It wouldn't even turn on. So, I had to ship it back and wait for another to arrive. Now, I have something that lasted. In fact, my Xbox 360 hasn't RRoD on me, yet /me knocks on wood.

Now, the worst video game developer is EA, obviously. I believe they're the creators of "online passes" in which you have to pay $10 for online activity if you have a pre-owned game. Not only were they douches of that, they created Origin for the PC gamers. Man, talking about an evil company out for the money.

First thing that comes to my mind is payday lenders like Cash Advance. To shark loans to people that are in trouble, and then all the crime at least loosely collected with it.

Do you mean "worse" as in financially and/or on a functionality level, or "worse" as in morally?

If you mean the former, I'd (sadly) have to go with ISIS. Sure they're a loveable bunch, but half of them are alcoholics with enough psychological baggage to fill a small aircraft.

If the latter, I would vote ODIN. They're professional, capable, and efficient, but they are also coldhearted bastards. Plus, one of their own turned into a KGB cyborg.

EA's biggest crime is making more as publisher than anyone else and contributing lowest to new I.P.
