D4 Review
Just another game about a time-traveling detective who deflects knives by spitting bubblegum at them as they fly through the air at full speed. Yep, just another game...

I had planned to write something about the Borderlands series, but that will have to wait. I have something I need to get off my chest first. It's very personal, and I hope the two or three of you who follow my sparse blog will spare me this moment. I joked in my review for the bizarre...

DAILY MANIFESTO

The Download April 25th, 2013

Posted on Thursday, April 25 @ 18:27:55 Eastern by

Despite a busy week of previews, business reporting, and Nintendo canceling it's E3 press conference (it's OK, nobody jump out a window), I think we'll be OK. I mean, it's not as if I live and die for Nintendo. That's not what I'm saying, but I am saying that I might jump out a window over this news. But no, I have a job to do.

I need to deliver you a list of this week's newly downloadable games. That's what we're here for. Week-in and week-out we've gotta chart the latest downloads or else we'll fall be hind, beacuse the downloads never stop! Dammit! Between Nintendo and the pressure of an always-open avenue for video game consumption, I might be doing myself a favor by jumping out the window.

Look out below! It's this week's Download!

Nintendo eShop

As Anthony whittled down the number of plays allowed by the Rayman Legends Demo on Nintendo Wii U, an alarm went off at Ubisoft headquarters. It was time to release... the challenge app! That free eShop download leads the pack of a rather small update for Nintendo's digital distribution channels.
  • Rayman Legends Challenge App - FREE - Wii U
  • Mega Man 4 - 3DS Virtual Console
  • Crazy Construction - 3DS
  • Color Commando - 3DS
  • Sengoku - Wii Virtual Console

Xbox Live Arcade

Aside from the Pizza Hut app, Xbox Live has seen little action in the way of new games. In fact, Monaco was also supposed to arrive in the Xbox Live Arcade, but it was delayed at the last second. PlayStation Network

If you need more on the newly added software for PlayStation platforms, PSLS's weekly PSN update is my source for The Download and you don't need to be a fanboy to visit.
  • Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WWII - PS3
  • Dead Island: Riptide - PS3
  • Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen - PS3
  • Soul Calibur V - PS3
  • Star Trek - PS3
  • God Mode - PSN/ PS3
  • Thomas Was Alone - PSN/ PS3, Vita (Cross-Buy)
  • Draw Slasher - Vita
  • Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R - Vita
  • Fire Pro Wrestling Returns - PS2 Classic
  • Black Rock Shooter The Game - PSP
  • Soul Calibur Broken Destiny - Free For Vita PS+ Subscribers
Steam

Formerly PS3-only indie Dyad is now available on Steam. Have you seen the trailer? You should seriously check it out... In fact, I'll post it below. I'm still playing way too much Fish Out of Water! to pick a new mobile game for this week..
  • Dead Island: Riptide - PC
  • Star Trek - PC
  • Cry of Fear - PC
  • Darkfall Unholy Wars - PC
  • The 39 Steps - PC, Mac
  • Dyad - PC
  • Monaco: What's Yours Is Mine - PC
  • Kairo - PC, Mac, Linux
  • Don't Starve - PC
