For Obsidian's crowdfunded love letter to Infinity Engine games like Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate, I was impressed by its willingness to pull back the curtain and let me see the machinery behind it.

Why Sunset Overdrive Can Go Suck A Lemon

Yesterday, while cleaning up my media center, I found my copy of Ratchet & Clank: Into The Nexus, which I bought sometime before Christmas last year. I had been pretty excited about this game pre-release, what with it being the first "traditional", albeit shorter than usual,...

DAILY MANIFESTO

The Download October 10th, 2013

Posted on Thursday, October 10 @ 16:30:00 Eastern by

This week's downloads catch, train, and cuddle monsters to eventually become download masters. The long road ahead of them is wrought with disconnects, lowered bandwidth, and some truly long loading screens.

Nintendo eShop

The most exciting software in this week's Nintendo eShop update is undoubtedley Pokémon. Seriously, even the Wii U Virtual Console backed off and is only putting up sports games.
  • Pokémon X - 3DS (Oct 12th)
  • Pokémon Y - 3DS (Oct 12th)
  • Tennis - Wii U VC
  • Golf - Wii U VC
  • Aqua Moto Racing 3D - 3DS
  • Escape from Zombie City - 3DS
  • Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked - 3DS
  • Super Black Bass 3D - 3DS
  • Zombie Blaster - DSiWare/3DS

Xbox Live Arcade

What's even less "mature" than Pokémon? Farting. This week's Xbox Live Arcade update has farting.
  • Let's Sing and Dance - Xbox 360
  • Orc Attack: Flatulent Rebellion - Xbox 360
PlayStation Network

I don't want erroneous lists to get in my way. That's why I use PSLS's weekly PSN update. It's my source for The Download and it smells good too.
  • Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness - PS3
  • Just Dance 2014 - PS3
  • Sniper Elite V2 - PS3
  • F1 2013 - PS3
  • Atomic Ninjas - PSN Cross-Buy PS3/Vita
  • Battle of Tiles EX - PSN
  • Orc Attack: Flatulent Rebellion - PSN
  • Malicious Rebirth - Vita
  • Worms Revolution Extreme - Vita
  • Heavenly Guardian - PS2 Classic
  • Shadow of the Colossus - Free for PS+ Subscribers
Steam

It's becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with every new piece of software added to Steam. Starting next week, we'll only feature the 10 most recent releases on Valve's platform. For the full list, just check the Steam storefront.
  • Chainsaw Warrior - PC
  • Salvation Prophecy - PC, Linux
  • Pandemonium - PC
  • Gas Guzzlers Extreme - PC
  • Tactical Intervention - PC
  • Bionic Dues - PC
  • Cook, Serve, Delicious! - PC, Mac, Linux
  • Gravi - PC
  • Legends of Eisenwald - PC
  • Escape Goat - PC, Mac, Linux

iOS Pick of the Week: Costume Quest iOS [iTunes Link]

Help twins Reynold and Wren explore their neighborhood and make new friends on the scariest night for a kid: Halloween. Level up your characters while you explore the neighborhood and discover quests by trick or treating, earning more candy as you go. Additionally, players can find additional pieces of costume or add to their party with other kids on the block.

Costume Quest debuts on iOS with perfect timing... I mean, what could be spookier than enjoying a game on mobile, right?
