FEATURED VOXPOP oblivion437     In all the talk of graphical downgrades no one seems much preoccupied with 'why?'.  Why build something and then proceed to tear it down, piece by piece, in the hope that ever more diminished expectations about the final product won't be severe enough to...

DAILY MANIFESTO

The Download September 26th, 2013

Posted on Thursday, September 26 @ 21:52:05 Eastern by

I've actually been getting rid of a lot of my games. The current generation is winding down, and I'm going through a leaning out period with my collection. I'm more intent on keeping the pieces of gaming past I really cherish with me, than I am holding on to some of the junk. Recent Humble Bundles and Steam sales made a lot of games I had for Xbox 360 or PS3 redundant. In the end, more PS3 games have managed to shy away from Steam and the PC, so I've kept more of them.

If I hold on to a console at the start of next-gen, it'll be my PS3. I loved what I had with the Xbox 360, especially playing Halo 4 (and I'm assuming GTA Online during community playdates soon) but it's had a good run and it'll do well to earn me some scratch towards my Xbox One.

Nintendo eShop

The big movers and shakers in this week's eShop update are definitely Etrian Odyssey and Rune Factory 4. I haven't played anything Rune Factory since the first and somehow haven't heard a thing about this new one.

  • Donkey Kong 3 - Wii U VC
  • BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner 2 - Wii U Sale 33% Off

  • Rune Factory 4 - 3DS (Oct 1st)
  • Carps & Dragons - 3DS

Xbox Live Arcade

Two, count 'em. Two new games land on Xbox Live Arcade this week... and it'll be up to you to tell me if they're good. I can't get away from GTA V.
  • Ascend: Hand of Kul - Xbox 360
  • Girl Fight - Xbox 360
PlayStation Network

I don't want erroneous lists and fanboys to get in my way. That's why I use PSLS's weekly PSN update. It's my source for The Download and it smells good too.
