For Obsidian's crowdfunded love letter to Infinity Engine games like Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate, I was impressed by its willingness to pull back the curtain and let me see the machinery behind it.

We've all been there. Everyone remembers that mission. You and your partner are climbing up the mountains in the snow, striving to pull some slick clandestine operation about getting some intel on a bad guy, or something similar (because let's face...

DAILY MANIFESTO

The Download September 5th, 2013

Posted on Thursday, September 5 @ 16:30:00 Eastern by

This week's download end in a new plague in the form of Call of Duty on iPhone. That's right, Activision's mega shooter will not only be played by children in our nation's homes, but also by children in our nation's schools. I fully expect harrier jets to make frequent stops by the elementary school near my house due to how many newbs will be pwned in just one recess.

Nintendo eShop

Your best bet in this week's eShop is undoubtedly Breath of Fire II which compliments the classic RPG offerings on Wii U eShop currently led by Earthbound. Keep these classics coming for off-TV play.
  • Summer Carnival '92 RECCA - 3DS VC
  • Sonic Generations - 3DS
  • Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara - Wii U
  • Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams - Wii U
  • Breath of Fire II - Wii U VC
  • Spot the Differences: Party! - Wii U
  • Boulder Dash - XL 3D - 3DS
  • Darts Up 3D - 3DS
  • Jewel Adventures - DSiWare/3DS

Xbox Live Arcade

Microsoft's new World Series of Poker game is actually totally free for Xbox Live Gold members. Download it and start looking for a hot hand because Nick Tan's Hold 'Em addiction might kick in again and you'll have a hard time bringing down that chip leader.
  • World Series of Poker - Xbox 360
  • Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse - Xbox 360
PlayStation Network

I don't want erroneous lists and fanboys to get in my way. That's why I use PSLS's weekly PSN update. It's my source for The Download and it smells good too.
  • Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse - PSN
  • Diablo III - PS3
  • Rayman Legends - PS3, Vita
  • Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate - PS3
  • Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons - PSN
  • Chaos Code - PSN
  • One Piece Pirate Warriors 2 - PS3
  • Hunter's Trophy 2 - PSN
  • Kickbeat - Cross-Buy PS3/Vita
  • Stella Deus: The Gate of Eternity - PS2 Classic
  • Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection - Free for PS+ Subscribers
Steam

Bring on Total War: ROME II... to your hard drive. Go download it via Steam. Our new reviewer Gil would certainly recommend it. Jeez, that mouse sure does get around.
  • Total War: ROME II - PC
  • Rayman Legends - PC
  • Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons - PC
  • Door Kickers - PC, Mac, Linux
  • MirrorMoon EP - PC, Mac, Linux
  • Outlast - PC
  • Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse - PC
  • Paranautical Activity - PC

Call of Duty Strike Team - iOS [iTunes]

Call of Duty adds third-person tactical gameplay to it's gameplay loop on mobile with Strike Team, a $6.99 downloadable currently only available on i-Devices. The graphics look pretty sweet and any Call of Duty that takes some risks is deserving of our mobile pick of the week, right?

Players will appreciate the attention to detail, all the way down to little mobile perks! Does this perk make my battery last longer? How about a perk that actually gives me some use out of the AR Drone I stupidly bought? All in all, Strike Team is a neat way to kill time until Ghosts arrives.
