DAILY MANIFESTOThe First Female MMA Fighters In A Video GamePosted on Thursday, February 24 @ 03:31:29 Eastern by Nicholas Tan
For the first time, female fighters will be joining the roster of an MMA title. Felice “Lil Bulldog” Herrig and Michele “Diablita” Gutierrez will bring their likenesses and their fighting styles to Supremacy MMA, a piece of history that Herrig is proud of: Gutierrez shares the same opinion:
Ricci Rukavina, CEO and Creative Director for developer Kung Fu Factory, is "proud to be a part of raising their profile and giving these tough-as-nails fighters their due in the virtual cage". And Peter Matiss, VP of marketing at 505 Games, believe that "Michele and Felice fight with the same ferocity and heart as any other fighter, regardless of gender, and we are proud to represent these strong, determined women in our game". Since Supremacy MMA plays more like a traditional fighter like Street Fighter or Tekken, the match-ups between the male and female MMA fighters will likely be balanced and fair. A fantasy in the real world, but hey, this is a video game. Supremacy MMA will hit stores June 2011 on Xbox 360 and PS3.
