The only thing that stops the dust is the rain. It’s a sweet reprieve, but there is no middle ground. The land is either as dry as the Betty Ford clinic, or as wet as the ocean floor. Everything can be seen from the ridge overlooking Armadillo as John Marston gently bounces along atop...

The People Speak - Disaster Proof

Posted on Wednesday, March 13 @ 16:30:00 PST by

Despite the persistent work by Electronic Arts and Maxis, it seems like SimCity will never escape the stink of its launch or the always-online requirements players have had to wrestle with over the past few weeks. Thankfully it's made for incredible fodder in the comments section. Not only was the review filled with excellent quips, but the subsequent fallout around the title also offered plenty of opportunity. Here's this week's best comments:

EA Disabling Non-Critical SimCity Features To Help Server Problems

12 Thumbs Up - 0 Thumbs Down

Or, you know, just disable the DRM. Herp derp.

12 Thumbs Up - 0 Thumbs Down

Criterion #1 for gaming review - can you play it? If the answer is anything other than "yes," a game has serious problems...

#3 - LawnGnome
Tell GR: How Can The Next Xbox Beat The PS4?

12 Thumbs Up - 5 Thumbs Down

It can't. The PS4 is going to be more powerful than PCs 20 years from now.

Believe It Or Not, Diablo 3 Is Now An Awesome Game

12 Thumbs Up - 2 Thumbs Down

To pwned your enemies, see them rage quit before you, and to hear the lamentation of their alts' whispers.

#5 - NecroWolf
SimCity Review

10 Thumbs Up - 0 Thumbs Down

The sad part for consumers is always-on DRM doesn't combat piracy, it encourages it. It'll be cracked fast and while everyone is raging at the servers being flaky, the pirates will be playing the game without a problem. Good job, EA.
