I'm going to try something different. In the past few weeks, I promised that The People Speak would be based in math. The top comments would require counting and extremely simple arithmetic, both of which I failed miserably at. As our comment-counting tools get better, things may change again, but for the time being, all you have to do to be CONSIDERED for The People Speak, is have a very high thumbs-up count.
That's not to say that the thumbs-downs the angrier members of GR have been handing out will go unnoticed. A significant count will completely destroy a comment's chance to get in the top 5. Basically, just keep using the feedback system and we'll curate 5 excellent comments each week. Let's get to it:

Tell GR: Would You Pay More For Next-Gen Games?
8 Thumbs Up - 1 Thumbs Down
Thanks to Steam, there aren't many games that I buy for more than $10. I tend to stay addicted to a few games for a very long time, so it's pretty easy to let new releases pass me by and then snap them all up later on sale--sometimes I'm not even a year behind, AND I get to play the fully patched version with any game-breaking release bugs ironed out.
For those games that I just have to have at release (the last two were Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Dishonored), I could probably be convinced to pay $70. A fair amount of new PC releases are still $50, though.
From a price-to-value perspective, there has probably never been a better time to be a gamer. I picked up Braid, Limbo, and Hotline Miami as a gift for a friend over Christmas. That's a minimum of 12 hours of super high-quality entertainment, and I got the lot for $7.50. Oh, Witcher 2 for another $7.50? Sure, why not--I was looking for something to do with the next FORTY HOURS of my life.

Microsoft Will Fail, Xbox Brand To Be "Sold To Someone Like Sony" According To Analyst

If they keep up that "no used games" thing, it probably will be their last console.
You know, I get the feeling that every single video game company is taking away the exact WRONG thing from the Steam model.

Going through my backlog. Just (finally) went back and finished Arkham City. Now I'm running around that damn Skyrim again (focusing on the main quests). Im thinking about purchasing DmC but I might wait becasue I think I will replay Dead Space 1 and 2. Gotta get my skills back for when the necromorphs return in February!!
And for an honorable mention, here's Anthony laying the law down on unloveable troll, Stealth2K. Should we have public bannings?

What it's really called is a public warning. I don't have the time or patience for legitimate trolls. You come here just to argue the review, leaving numerous duplicate comments that I personally have to delete - I won't stand for it.
This serves as your warning. Cut the **** or the banhammer shall drop and smite thee with furious anger.
The People Speak is a weekly spotlight on the GameRevolution community and all of their beautiful feedback on the week's news, reviews, previews, and topics. Don't forget to down vote your competition!
