The People Speak - Let Sleeping Dogs Lie
Posted on Thursday, August 14 @ 17:00:00 PST by Daniel Bischoff
Every week we look to the community for input on the day's topic's. We would have offered you our own commentary of the week's biggest games and news except without mailbag, recording the podcast isn't as much fun. Send in comments or questions about video games to email@example.com. As me anything and I'll either reply or we'll respond on next week's podcast. Maybe both if your question is really good!
Anyway, here are a few of this week's top discussions as judged by someone with the ability to read... me!
Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition Outed by Amazon [Update: Square Enix Confirms]
Pay full price for a game the was Free on both systems at one point!
Anyone heard anything about Triad Wars lately? Last I heard, Square was gonna show it this year.
I used to hate remakes on principle, but after playing TLOU: Remastered and experiencing the glory that is 1080p/60fps, I kind of wish the entire PS3 library would get the same treatment.
Tell GR: Do You Spend More or Less Money on Gaming?
New hardware is the bane of my pocket XD as I try to buy my games consciously, this year biggest hits I took were a new 3ds for the XL upgrade (ALBW ver) and a Ps4 but I'm not planning to expend much money on games as there isn't a lot going on right now, last year it was all about the games a Wii U (WW ver) and a Vita, and in 2012 I expended a lot more in gaming because of my current PC build (Rampage IV Extreme/Intel 3930K/GTX 670 FTW) and a 3ds (OoT ver) so I expect that next year will go easy on the budget because there is no hardware expense planned as I will change my video card when the new 20nm cards hit the market, new hardware... a love and hate relationship.
I'd say I don't spend as much, but I'm in a better financial position now than I've ever been. I'm much more picky now about what I buy when I buy it, so I buy more stuff at a lower price point. The biggest issue now is that I either don't have time to play, or don't feel like playing when I do have time.
Considering how fast prices drop, I've pretty much stopped buying games at release. The rise of DLC and exclusive content packs is another factor in keeping me away from buying day one. When I can get the full game for a third of the price of the base game, it's just dumb not to wait. I've got more than enough games to keep my occupied without wasting my money. I've bought more games in the last two years than I have in the last ten, but I've spent far less money doing it by buying smart.
From Software Considering Photo Mode in Bloodborne
Gah, Bloodborne has gotten me more interested than Dark Souls 2 did because of it's definitely next gen graphics and very Castlevania atmosphere.
I have always considered Souls games as the true 3D Castlevanias and this pretty much is it. Sadly, Playstation exclusive.
I hope it does come to PC eventually.
Photo mode is hardly a new feature. It was also pretty handy in Dragon's Dogma, but the only problem was you couldn't focus on anything but the protagonist.
Rise of the Tomb Raider Coming Exclusively to Xbox
obviously a timed exclusive
Agreed. Unless I see in writing "all variants of this game will be lifetime exclusive to Xbox One, precluding for example 'Game of the Year Editions' from appearing on other consoles" I don't buy it. Any non-definitive statements are that way for a reason.
DayZ Headed to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
no word was mentioned about a Xbox-One version just a PS4 version very recently on stage at gamescom. ( tho most likely true ) . how the hell can you say both consoles when yet you don't say where Xbox was announced ? this website I will not trust cause anyone can say anything in a story posted on site and not follow up on how it was announced. it was announced for one and your saying for both. and provide no proof of it. welp this site talks out of there ass and doesn't provide proof of any kind.
if anyone wants gaming news go to Joystiq.com this site is halfassed
Soooo you take time to write all this when you could have just been on the site you like in the first place....bravo dude!
have they made the game any better yet? i last played around spring and it was boring as hell. doesn't help that pretty much everyone shoots on sight but really there's no incentive not to since there's nothing else to do
New Silent Hill Coming From Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro
All of my yes.
My reaction when I saw Kojima next to Del Toro:
I acted like a complete child jumping around with excitement when I found out about this today. This was like a dream come true for me. My two favorite franchises are MGS and Silent hill and finding out that Kojima actually decided to head this up after all the rumors and seeing that it will have Akira Yamaoka back as sound designer and it just kept getting better with Reedus and Del Toro. The next thing I want to hear is that Masahiro Ito is back as monster designer, along with more of the original team silent, but then I might actually die from happiness. Greatest news of my entire gaming life so far.
From the forums: [Official] World of Warcraft topic.
In five hours, we'll get the Warlord of Draenor cinematic.
... will we finally see some gnomes?
i'm excited. just started back a week ago. the TBC nostalgia will make me love this xpac.
I don't really know how I feel about WoD so far.... we'll see I guess.
Also, I got a 550 PvP character and my legendary cloak like last May, so I pretty unsubbed after that. I'll probably jump back on when the 10th anniversary stuff comes out.
