Finally Broke My Crowdfunding Rule
By oblivion437
Posted on 01/12/15
I've had a long-standing rule to avoid getting involved in any sort of crowdfunded activities.  I didn't donate to Shadowrun or Wasteland, but I did buy and enjoy both of them (I'm plugging both of those games right now, just so you know they're good).  I haven't...

The People Speak - Rubin You The Wrong Way

Posted on Wednesday, December 4 @ 18:50:33 Eastern by

Jason Rubin was solely responsible for THQ's smoking, burning crash and subsequent demise. Only Jason is allowed the title of Head Screw Up, at least when it comes to the story behind THQ's ultimate failure.

Of course this is not true, but catching the exec's foot in his mouth was just as fun for our commenters. Foot-in-mouth-Nintendo-style-gate was a hotly discussed topic this week, but what of Lindsay Lohan's striking resemblance to a horrifying psychopath, and I'm not talking about Lindsay Lohan resembling herself because that would be stupid. Stickyellowsock brings us a shocking sight gag for the lead off spot in this week's TPS Report.

If you'd like to contribute to our weekly comment round-up with a comment you liked not featured here, simply send me a PM with a link to the comment. Don't forget to learn more about Disqus on GameRevolution.

Rubin: "Nintendo Is Irrelevant As A Hardware Manufacturer In The Console Business

He's right on the money. Nintendo is absolutely totally irrelevant in the console market. The 3DS is a money hole for them that absolutely isn't dominating in handheld market. They don't have any mega-blockbuster games coming. People aren't lining up to buy 3DS's to play A Link Between Worlds at all. It's a wonder that Nintendo is still even in business.

Seriously, fuck this guy. Nintendo misfired on the WiiU but there's still hope. They have Mario game out now, some really compelling bundles, and probably a Zelda game on the way. Give it a little more time and you'll see some 3d party publishers come back once the install base is back up.

Rubin: "Nintendo Is Irrelevant As A Hardware Manufacturer In The Console Business

37 Up - 10 Down

Jason Rubin is part of the problem. First of all, he bankrupted his company, so he has no room to speak. Second, Nintendo will never, ever go bankrupt unless they make such a gargantuan, catastrophic mistake. Thirdly, Jason, you're not even a has-been in this industry, you're a never-was.
Next, Nintendo makes awesome consoles. The Wii U is revolutionary and is a neat little toy to get younger gamers accustomed to having two things at once: using a tablet and a videogame console simultaneously. Nintendo games play best on Nintendo systems as well.
Jason Rubin has now become a regular citizen with nothing to do but regain fame as a Nintendo-is-doomed loser. He doesn't deserve the clicks.

>adding that "it is a crime that we do not play those games on the systems that we have."

are you fucking kidding? just buy a fucking nintendo console so it's a console "you have". what the actual fuck is wrong with these people? you know how disastrous a sony/microsoft only industry would be? there won't be ANY variety, there wouldn't be any difference in game libraries. everything would be multiplat or a console exclusive shooter or action game that barely sets itself apart from the rival console exclusive shooter/action game.
