Grid 2 surprised me. I was going through the motions, getting used to the cars and their handling, when suddenly something happened. I started having fun.

Undead Lab's zombie-infested action title has finally hit XBLA. Is it worth a few of your precious Microsoft Points, or should you whack it over the head with a two-by-four and continue on your merry way?

Did Microsoft just pull a 1985 Coca-Cola on the world? Was the "Xbox 180" an eleborate marketing scheme? I examine.

E3: PC or rather about the lack of it
By Starling
Posted on 06/15/13
E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Rumor Says Final Fantasy Remake On the Way

Comment by Somaroth.

Before the Square Enix's financial meltdown, I would have said either 6 or 9, but holding reasonable suspicion that they would churn out a remake for 7. With the greatly changed situation, I would say that they will either remake 7 openly, or go with 6 which they have remade before, and because so many people clamor about it when the Final Fantasy series is brought up in conversation (myself included.)

Let LEGENDofKARL Explain Call of Duty Elite

Comment by Mobius_Sean.

In more detail though, I think (or just pray with the mad fury of a man drowning in an acid bath with a rabid badger knawing through his tibia) that introducing paid multiplayer features into FPS gaming is doomed to failure. MMO's I can understand. I can't remember the last time I said to a friend, "Hey, let's go play that RPG where you can share a server with thousands of other players in a well-realized immersive world and not pay a subscription fee."

When they try this crap, are gamers (Again, see my fervent hoping above) going to say "Hey, let's go drop 60$ on the new CoD that has a monthly charge added on for crap features that don't mean a damned thing!" or "Hey. You wanna play some MW2?"? (Please please god, gamers, don't shoot my generosity in the balls and prove them right. It's so hard to give us the benefit of the doubt sometimes)

Yup SweetHat, real bonehead move, who would ever want to download 1400 points of stuff for 800 points.

What Happened to Hard Mode?

Comment by Kiristo.

I don't miss games being uber hard. Like your rage comic pic suggests, games are mostly just fun now. As I'm no longer a child and have real work to challenge me, I like to mostly enjoy my games. Obviously, there needs to be some challenge, but it doesn't need to be hard as hell and piss you off because of the difficulty like these kind of games tended to do. Yea, there is pay off in beating them, but I'd rather less end-game pay off, and enjoy the whole game.

Kristo made an excellent point, for adults with responsibilities I mean. Sometimes I'm playing an old 8-bit or 16-bit game that couldn't be any more than 4 or 5 hours and I find myself wishing for a save point.
