DAILY MANIFESTO

The People Speak: DON'T CALL ME DANNY

Posted on Sunday, October 16 @ 20:16:11 Eastern by

Welcome to another week's The People Speak. If you were paying attention, we're double sizing The People Speak to make room for all of your awesome comments, thoughts, and retorts.

If you're new, we'll explain it again: write some witty, thoughtful, and all-around awesome comments to get your fellow revolutionary's attention. Nominate any comments you find worthy of The People Speak by replying to it and saying that you nominate it. It's that simple!

At the end of every three months, we'll draw a name out of a hat filled with names of comments who've been featured and who've nominated others. Every time you nominate or get featured you gain one entry in the drawing. Whoever we pick will get an awesome swag pack from our personal stash at the GameRevolution compound.

You're best chance at winning will come in new DAILY Tell GR Manifesto posts. Every weekday we'll ask you about a specific topic. One commenter will be featured from these daily posts NO MATTER WHAT. Commenters who are featured from Tell GR posts will earn double entries, as will anyone nominating comments from Tell GR posts.

To make it even easier, we'll be expanding The People Speak to the 10 best comments of the week! Let's get to it!

Tell GameRevolution: What do you want in the Xbox 720?

Comment by JunkyArd.

Come on guys, you are all asking for stuff they could make in the Xbox 720 TODAY! It's the Xbox of THE FUTURE! I want a ****ing HOLOGRAM and vision correcting lasers to shoot out of it, an IV that shoots you up with drugs when your in game character shoots up, and hell for the safe side, some heart monitor system connected to 911, just incase someone ODs, or has a heart attack while playing THE GREATEST GAMES OF THE FUTURE EVER THAT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND! and with the shitty kinect and my awesome hologram idea, throw in some virtual strippers, or something. geeez. I'm disappointed in you guys. So practical and whatnot.

Tell GameRevolution: What do you want in the PS4?

Comment by Bretimus_v2. Nominated by Anthony_Severino.

Cross game chat.

Tell GameRevolution: Why Are You Excited (or Disgusted) by Mass Effect 3's Multiplayer?

Comment by the_mighty_toast. Nominated by TheJx4.

You know, I don't usually reply to these types of things because people get so wound up that I don't like getting into the middle of it. Maybe I'm not passionate enough about the games I enjoy. I honestly don't care if the sequel of a game doesn't follow a predeveloped 'lore' of a certain universe. I care if its fun. That goes for every game. Its like reading a really good book series, then watching the movies, and having a clear enough mind to enjoy both for what they are, independent of each other.

Now, with that in mind, I say I am not at all worried about the multiplayer. The first game was enjoyable, the second game was enjoyable. I thought the stories on both were good. I can't imagine the developers just dumping a big pile of poo on us, after delivering two games that have both won numerous awards for how good they were. I don't usually do much multiplayer anyway, but I will surely check it out. Just take the game as it is, and don't let preconceived notions ruin your fun.

Tell GameRevolution: Screw the Wii U, Make Your Own Next-Gen Nintendo

Comment by usaglory.

As far as software goes, all the major franchises on day one (or at least the first 3 months), strong third party support (no sh*tty dumbed down versions of games), a free game to get you started (even if it is from a previous generation) and a return to the good 'ol days of Nintendo's Seal of Quality, meaning no more shovelware. As far as hardware, just make the damn thing powerful.

Tell GameRevolution: What Do You Want if Sega Made Another Console?

Comment by UpAndAtThem. Nominated by usaglory.

Blast processing! It didn't actually mean anything, but by God I want it back!

Netflix Stays Netflix... What the Hell is a Qwikster Anyway?

Comment by Masterwabbit. Nominated by tinymhg.

Well, my guess is that Netflix realized "Qwikster" was already taken on Twitter, and it was owned by some stoner. Worst thing in the world to direct message the guy for suggestions on what to watch, and he sends you a list containing Cheech and Chong, the Joy of Painting, and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's Map is an Eye Full

Comment by Lethean. Nominated by tinymhg.

All this map has done is made me realize how ****ing cool it would be to live in a world with names like Haafingar and Falkreath. Then again...Throat of the World? It'd suck to end up there and find out that mother nature does in fact swallow.

50 MILLION Nintendo DS Units Sold in US

Comment by Commiebot. Nominated by Sammo.

I haven't eaten 50 million tacos yet, but I'm trying my best.

Bioware Officially Details Mass Effect 3's Multiplayer

Comment by Eriktavius.

I think the experience one wants is to have the A.I. characters that fight along side of you be as real and even as flawed at times as a real live person. Without having to (make new buddies or friends whatever). There are some of us that play these type of games that either (don't have friends that are into gaming or don't want to be bothered finding friends or making friends to play these games). Some times one may just want to come home from work and forget about the REAL world. That mean all that socializing and stuff and just be at peace with oneself...well, peace until you ripe someone apart with a mass effect generated warp field or freeze them then incinerate them...or something. ah, ok, I think you get my meaning, JUST LET US PLAY THE GAME.

thinks for reading this. ;-)

Online Pass Coming to Battlefield 3 (Duh)

Comment by DonKitKat.

"....and having to pay extra for it if you don't buy the game new is a major middle finger to fans"

Yea and buying a used game is like dropping your pants and giving developers a big fat hairy goat. As much as I hate the idea of online passes, there really isn't any other way for developers to profit from used game sales (sure they will probably sell millions, but if a game is good enough, I think they deserve it).

BTW you can buy a brand new game from amazon for WAY cheaper than a used game from gamestop so I don't see why people rave about used games.

Do you dream of applause? How about riches, praise, and the occasional congratulations? You can be featured in GameRevolution's weekly The People Speak post. Every weekend, GR will highlight the best comments, forum posts, user blogs and user reviews. All you have to do is participate in GameRevolution's lively and vibrant community. Yeah, lively and vibrant are good words to use. If you get featured in The People Speak a lot, you'll have a chance at some swag from the GR compound. Don't like to participate but still want a shot at some swag? Nominating comments, posts, reviews and blogs also gets you an entry into our quarterly The People Speak drawing. Send danielrbischoff a PM or send an e-mail to daniel@gamerevolution.com.

Btw, if those are the top10 comments, then what the hell would my lapsus-onpurposeus be? Something like the plastic envelop that wraps a new game?

The heavens parted and light shone down upon the people. They looked up and a voice emanated from above and yet it spoke to their very souls. It said:

    Crash Bandicoot is wicked retarded.

What's all this drop mic stuff? I saw it in Bret's comment and then there was one after Obama's speech about Osama being found and shot and someone said he should have turned his back, dropped the mic and walked away. I'd laugh if someone did that. It's pure cheese.
