This Super Metroid Short Harkens Back To 90s MTV Animation In A Great Way

Posted on Tuesday, August 13 @ 13:42:38 Eastern by

How many hours of Metroid Adventures would I watch? Hundreds, thousands, more... Nintendo hasn't exactly plumbed the depths of the Metroid Mythos, so I think we should give animator Dave Rapoza a crack at it on television.

This short posted by Rapoza on his Youtube channel reminds me so much of 90s animation on MTV or the Spike and Mike showcases I'd rent from the video store. I'd love to see Samus procedurally explore a foreign world every Saturday night on Toonami's Midnight Run, but I think those days are long gone.

Maybe that's why the face-off between Samus and the disgustingly hulking beast at the end stings so much. The clip is criminally short, but I'll certainly keep an eye on Rapoza's work in the future.
