Will this alternative-history FPS make players want to shout “Wolverines” or will they want to forget it ever existed (like the pathetic remake of Red Dawn)?

After all these years, and growing up with Windows 3.1, I have seen an entire evolution of computers and software. Touch screens and large resolutions were a pipe dream just 15 years ago. Now it's the norm. Going from a Packard Bell (yes, before HP) that couldn't run 3D Ultra Mini...

Tying Up The Loose Ends

Sorry I missed a couple of Manifesto updates, I'm only now getting over my hangover from the GR Festivus blowout. Not to mention those Brawndo cocktails. Ugh.

It was a great party on Friday, so great, in fact, that we forgot to put up the Friday podcast. Doh! Well it's up now and I hope you enjoy the very last podcast of 2008 where we taste your Brawndo concoctions and declare a winner.

Blake made me promise not to give it away as a spoiler. So I'll post the winning recipe next week.

Like I said, it was a great party. Some of our friends from Sega and Capcom and WorthPlaying.com came by to rock out and get their drink on. I brought in a keg of my home-brewed stout, which got completely drained.

The Pong tournament was an intense affair yet again. Last year's winner, molecular biologist Jamie Cope, got knocked out in the second round and victory was ultimately claimed by journalist Chris Hudak.

An update on the robbery. When the thieves tried to steal our TV, they threw it out a window, smashing this Toyota (and the TV).

Toshiba repair told me to throw it out and get a new TV when I described the problem. However, I opened it up instead and all that is broken is this big mirror. Everything else tests out fine. I called Toshiba back, and a new mirror is only $50. Awesome! That is one seriously tough television.

Our Roomba, on the other hand, has revolted at cleaning up the mess from the party or perhaps it is still drunk, but now it will only do the Circle Dance, which is the Roomba version of the Red Ring Of Death.

Happy Festivus everyone!
