If you haven't seen it yet, check out this video of Uncharted. There might finally be a reason to buy a PS3. I saw a bunch of Sierra games yesterday that I'm not allowed to write about yet, but I think I can get away with saying that one of them was a new Crash Bandicoot game. I only mention it now because it made me wonder what my pals at Naughty Dog, the original developers of Crash were up to these days. Turns out they're up to something very cool with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. The motion capture on the main character is just amazing. If the gameplay looks half that good, I'll be impressed, and I love the fact that you play as a regular guy and not some 'roid pumped super soldier or huge-breasted Playboy model with guns. Naughty Dog is owned by Sony, so this will definitely be PS3-only. Sorry for the lack of video controls, this was the only way I could figure out to stream the hi-res movie. To restart, just refresh the page.

Yeah, but this is Sony. They cannot fathom that in-game graphics could ever be used to promote a game. "SURELY NOT! IN-GAME?"

I for some reason got a serious pitfall vibe as soon as i watched this. Thats probably just cause some dude was jumping around in a jungle. W/E looks pretty interesting.

I will reserve judgement till I see actual finished gameplay. Sony is notorious for making big grandiose videos that turn out to be vaporware. Now if they could make the PS3 affordable, that's a trick I'd like to see.

| i say character that can finish a game is not realistic at all. Really, how 'regular' is going around the jungles finding about curses and killing other people.
but it looks meh, i reckon the crysis trailer looks better. |

That looked actually in-game. I'm pretty sure I saw some anti-aliasing there. Either that, or I'm going blind.

Tomb Raider with cheesecake for the ladies rather than the guys. That's a refreshing change. Maybe that'll be worth getting a PS3. Maybe.

looked good, i hope it bombs so fans don't live through 9000 sequels, with only the first two being enjoyable to play. sony, microsoft and EA need to start producing more new titles. and unfortunately they see every major success as an excuse to make half a dozen more of the same game, instead of seeing the underlying concept that we don't want so many sequels crammed down our throats.

it would be funny if you sat through a fifteen minute opening cinema that looks just like that, then the game starts and it looks just like Pitfall on the Atari.

Yeah, I think there's some gameplay in there. It is refreshing to have a halfway normal looking guy in a video game. Only thing is, he looks almost too normal; he's dressed too 'urban' to be treasure hunting in the jungle. Notice his lame belt-buckle lol.
