Sony Sacrifices A Goat. No, Really.

People are up in arms because of a promotional party for God of War II centered around a real decapitated goat.
I go to a lot of video game parties, including Sony ones, but I wasn't invited to this launch party in Greece. Gotta say, wish I had been there.
This amazing Bacchanalia featured pits full of live snakes, the Parthenon in the background, an overmuscled Kratos handing out garlands, topless women feeding grapes and drinks to partiers, and knife throwing games.
But the public outcry is about the goat with the slit throat. Apparently guests were even offered the "honor" of reaching inside the guts of the dead goat and eating the offal. Animal rights activists, politicians, and others are simply frothing at the mouth. According to Sony, the goat was purchased from a butcher and was not slaughtered at the party.
Perhaps most amazing of all is that pics from the event ended up in the Official Playstation Magazine (UK). Sony and Future Publishing have recalled the issue, but home subscribers already got their copies.
Apparently, the oracles organizing the Sony party (not to mention the magazine editors) were unable to read B-A-D I-D-E-A in the goat's entrails. Party foul.

| the governments should take a pole if this is ok or not with the people before doing any arrests. everyone seems to think doing this was a good idea, and was pretty damn fun! i would have stuck my head in the goat and motterboated a little, but thats just me... |

| You can buy pieces of a goat from a butcher and eat them, but you can't play with it's guts and use its intestines to read the future? What is wrong with people today? |

| Ok, I'm sure there are a thousand other ways Sony could have promoted God of War II without doing something that was bound to get people angry from the start. I mean come on Sony, a dead goat? As if God of War II needed more publicity...

| I don't see the problem with this. If it was purchased legally, and the goat wasn't killed for the sole purpose of this event, then what the hell is the problem?
People have feelings, we know this, but their feelings towards something should not dictate the actions/feelings of others.
I don't like broccoli, but I won't petition to have it be banned from stores.
People need to grow up. Live and Let live, true freedom. |

| If you cry over a goat being killed, I think your priorities may be a bit off. It's just a freaking goat. It's not like it was a bunny. :-) |

| i cant imagine how to propose an idea like this. i know they're greek but come on. "So... how about we cut off an animals head and put burritos in it in it?" "BRILLIANT!"
Animal rights is bullshit. That party was probably the best thing that's happened to that goat. And people sticking their hands into the goat's **** organ? That goat must've been the life of the party. Distasteful? Yes. Any different then the other types of death that animal would inevitably go through? no. |

| Is this how the world accepts different cultures? This was a V-E-R-Y C-R-E-A-T-I-V-E idea. |

| Sadly, for every intelligent and forward-thinking person in the world there are a hundred S-T-U-P-I-D A-S-S-H-O-L-E-S, and politicians and animal rights activists tend to be members of the latter group. |

| I see no problem with the goat being displated at the party. Having it in the magazine, however, was a bad call just for the fact that animal rights activists will ***** at everything and anything they see. |

| I don't think decapitating qualifies as a cultural difference we should embrace...Very sick. Maybe the god of war 3 party will have actual pederasts if sony are going the whole ancient greek culture hog. |
