LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Wanna Remove Those Ads from Your Xbox Dashboard?

Posted on Friday, December 9 @ 10:44:06 Eastern by Keri_Honea

Ah Reddit. Most people of the blogging and gaming community have a love/hate relationship with you. Today though, you've made millions of Xbox 360 owners happy.

No doubt that after finished updating your new shiny Xbox 360 dashboard--and then consequently waited for it to work--you became instantly annoyed by the ads that proliferate virtually every page. Fortunately for all irritated Xbox 360 owners everywhere, the Reddit community has revealed how you can effectively keep your dashboard ad-free.

Before you get too excited, ye should be warned. It's not that simple of a process. It involves massive tinkering with your Xbox 360 settings, clearing out your hard drive cache, and signing up for an account with OpenDNS, but you can't deny the results. And those results include blocking rad.msn.com.

Better do it soon, before the next patch releases that will somehow find a way to prevent this or threaten to brick your hard drive. They wouldn't do that, would they?

I'm just glad Microsoft actually listened for a change and made it so you can use your voice to turn it off. No more of this trying to find the controller or walk up and turn it off like a caveman bull.

With the right router all you have to do is block https://rad.msn.com/ and you're set. No need to sign up for OpenDNS or muck about with your 360's settings.
