Watch Alex Whip Around Leipzig, Germany
For NFS: Most Wanted

Posted on Friday, October 5 @ 22:12:03 Eastern by

When everything is said and done, I had a ton of fun hanging out with Alex in Germany. We got lost, took the wrong train, ate sausages and drank beer. By the end of the trip, I felt like a real German! I finally lived up to my name! I...

I was not as unimpressed with the speed and control the professional driver exhibited, at least, not as unimpressed as Alex. Nothing impresses that guy. Have you heard him on the podcast when we do Buy, Try, or Die? Remember to look for our full preview of Need For Speed: Most Wanted on October 14th, with a full review of the upcoming open-world racer at the end of the month.

I don't like amusement parks. I must confess, I'm sort of a grumpy old man at heart.

Drifting is extremely challenging with those tires. You'd oversteer the car and hit a wall, 100%.

I'd be driving a scion as well though! Built to drift and they are even more formidable in that area of driving even compared to a Nissan skyline gtr

    Haha. So disgustingly unimpressed.

Though it didn't look super impressive on video either, so I don't blame you.

That guy had a great line through the course. The Porsche GT3 is a fantastic car with great power/weight and a good center of balance. I hope I can hop in one someday...

the engine is still in the wrong place, granted after years of trial and error, they've nailed the weight balancing issue (german engineering ftw) but it still took some 15 years to get it correctly. Ask anyone who's driven an old 911, the amount of grip you get in the entry gives you false bravado and confidence, so you push it some more, until finally the grip gives out and all that weight in the back flings you around and around

and leack is correct, drifting on those tires would result in you looking badass for 1.5 seconds, and than a trip to the hospital so they could pull the front quarter panel from your chest

I'd be driving a scion mind you. I was referring more to drifting the track in my car, should have made myself more clear. Scion is built to drift, they are even better at it than gtr

You don't have a scion that can drift, all Scion's are front wheel drive, the only one that is rear wheel is the FR-S, which is just a toyota 86 with a scion badge, and even if that is the correct car, it wouldn't come close to having similar skidpan results as a GTR

no matter how much dressing you put on it, your $3 hamburger will never be as good as a $20 steak

Bud there's tons of videos of the scion out drifting gtr.... The gtr is a great drift car mind you ,but it's built to be a super car and regardless everyone knows Toyota and Nissan make best drift able cars
