REVIEWSGRiD 2 Review
Grid 2 surprised me. I was going through the motions, getting used to the cars and their handling, when suddenly something happened. I started having fun.
State of Decay Review
Undead Lab's zombie-infested action title has finally hit XBLA. Is it worth a few of your precious Microsoft Points, or should you whack it over the head with a two-by-four and continue on your merry way?
LATEST FEATURESXbox 180 And The New Coke
Did Microsoft just pull a 1985 Coca-Cola on the world? Was the "Xbox 180" an eleborate marketing scheme? I examine.
E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Watch All Of Mass Effect 3's New Endings Now

I'm lazy. The disc for Mass Effect 3 is... way over there. I can't reach it. Even if I could I'd have to physically manipulate buttons sticks on the controller. Who has time for that when all of that Extended Cut DLC is just a Youtube search away?
It should be plainly obvious that there are spoilers ahead... and probably in the comments too.
First up is the "Control" or Blue ending:
Next in line is the "Destroy" or Red ending:
Of the three original endings, we'll finish with the "Synthesis" or Green ending:
And finally, Mass Effect 3's Extended Cut DLC adds a fourth ending, Refusal. Here it is:
So, what'd ya think? Does it "fix" Mass Effect 3's finale?
Umm they really don't explain much. They just seem to put into a narrative what I assumed anyway. I really don't think this is much of an improvement at all. Also I like how the Mass Relays went from being DESTRYOED to simply being badly damaged. 2/10
Looking at my ending of Synthesis, pretty obvious that would happen. the Refusal ending is kind of lame but whatever. I'd say 5/10. I don't feel relieved or anything just pointless information.
Really don't think this was necessary. The people who were satisfied (like me) will still be satisfied & not care about the extended cuts while the people who *****ed & moaned will still ***** & moan, but about this now too.
They did address the one legitimate complaint I had with the original endings. By not having the Normandy Crash-landing anymore (at least it seems more likely they just set it down this time, as it is able to fly again), I am no longer irritated by Joker's lack of a shattered skeleton. Also, I thought it flushed out the options a little better. At least for control, which was really ambiguous to me in the original ending. Anyway, I still like synthesis the best. Not sure why this took so long to slap together though. Was there really no change to the retake earth mission? Or in the citadel prior to this?
It's a nice little addition, but a big reason why people had a problem with the ending is that the series was supposed to have a focus on choice changing things, and then you get to the end and it just gives you three colored deus ex machina to choose from that magically solve everything, completely invalidating the point of most of the game. So adding some dialogue doesn't fix much of anything. Truthfully, I like the Refusal ending the best. The games should've built up how powerful the Reapers are, and show the inevitability of defeat against them from the beginning (since they sort of started that in 1) but just leave a different future for the next generation. And if you're going to make it all pointless, make it all pointless with a point. That said, I don't really give a damn about the ending when the series had plenty of other problems. This is just to try and appease the broken base. Nothing more.
I suppose at least with the synthesis ending you get the almost tear-jerking Liara/EDI hug and the satisfaction in knowing that Joker should be able to get more than over-the-clothes action with those new synthetic implants. Did anybody else notice that in the destroy ending Liara doesn't actually put Shepard's plaque on the wall in the Normandy? She does it in every single other one. On the whole I have to say that the endings have been better addressed and explained, but are still flawed. I had hoped that what happened to all of your individual crew members would be addressed, but that will more than likely be covered in the surefire sequels that will be coming when EA needs an influx of cash. After all after every ending, even the depressing refusal one, you have two stargazers about to discuss more of "The Shepard's" stories.
I was someone who hated the endings, hated them with a passion that would have made the most ruthless tyrant feel uneasy, and this extended cut, while not perfect (and really, the 4th option is just a big **** you from Bioware to those who wanted that option,) I am satisfied with the endings. If we judge strictly on a pass/fail basis, it gets a pass. It feels a lot more fitting of an end to such a large and expansive world that was created
I like the additions to synthesis, didn't watch the others. I didn't have a major problem with the ending in the first place, but after finishing the game and youtubing the other endings, I noticed that they were all nearly the exact same except for the color... lame. Anything to differentiate them is welcome. And thanks for posting this, I already traded my copy in and wouldn't have cared enough to look it up myself, haha.
They're better than the original endings but still essentially different colours of space magic. I think the problem goes down to the existence of the Child and the three game finishing options which ignore anything that came before them but to fix those problems would be to change the ending which is something Bioware said they wouldn't do.
