We're Going Halfway Around the World to Play More Video Games

Posted on Friday, September 2 @ 21:04:01 Eastern by Josh_Laddin
Hey there, fellow Revolutionaries, miscreants, and social deviants. How are you? Me? I'm doing good, but I'm in the middle of packing and getting my things together for a long plane ride (ok, I'm not packing yet because I always wait until the very last minute, but that's what I would say were I a responsible adult).

Where am I going, you ask? Well, this coming Monday (that's Labor Day), Nick and I are boarding a flight that'll drops us off in Taipei, Taiwan so we can attend the Gamania Game Show from September 7th - 9th. You may not have heard of Gamania if you live in the western world, but it's a pretty big publisher and developer for online PC games in that neck of the woods, owning the Taiwanese licenses to MMORPGs such as Maple Story. They're getting a decent foothold in America, too, with games like Lucent Heart, which I previewed a while back.

They've been gracious enough to send not just one, but two of us over to their first ever Game Show, where they'll be showcasing four new MMOs: Dream Drops, Tiara Concerto, Langrisser Schwarz, and the highest profile of the bunch, Core Blaze.

So don't be alarmed if you see posts from Nick and I next week about weird shit that we're discovering while exploring Taipei. We'll still be bringing you the usual coverage, but we'll also be throwing in anything and everything related to the Gamania show and our jaunt across the Pacific.

If there's anything you'd like to see from us (within reason, for all of you dirty-minded mental adolescents), go ahead and let us know. And if you've been there before and have any recommendations for noob travelers to Taiwan, I urge you to share those as well. See you on the other side of the globe!
