We're Tired, Sick, And Mailbag! Let's Go Off-Topic

Posted on Monday, June 11 @ 16:10:51 Eastern by

I'm not one to normally get sick. I've been to a bunch of conventions and I've never gotten sick at a single one. Unfortunately, that streak was broken last week when I caught nerd flu at E3 2012. If you're wondering how that happened, check out all of our E3 podcasts here, here, and here.

Once you're done with that, why don't we talk about TV? What are you watching? What should we be watching? What do you think about the current landscape of the miraculous box in your living room? What's on the DVR? What shows are you binging on?

Both Mad Men and Game of Thrones recently had their season finales. Probably the best two shows on TV right now. Have to wait over a month for Breaking Bad to start, also brilliant. Batman: AA & AC have got me binging on episodes of Batman: The Animated Series & Batman Beyond right now. Good stuff.

Love game of thrones! But as anyone who has read the book of something then watched the movie there are some inconsistencies that are getting kind of annoying. Still a great show though.

I've read the books too, and while there are some slight differences, it's still probably the most faithful book adaptation that I've ever seen.

I don't watch TV except Netflix because it doesn't cost $75 a month for commercials. So, just finished s15 South Park, working on finishing 30 Rock. Gonna start Mad Men and Lost maybe here soon.

I was addicted to the show a little bit ago but now all I catch are episodes I've already seen.

I'm currently in the middle of the third season of Justified on Amazon. After that, I plan on buying the fourth seasons of Breaking Bad and Sons of Anarchy (don't want to wait for the unknown Netflix release dates of those seasons, and Amazon Instant Video has them for a reasonably good price). Oh, and I plan on rewatching Deadwood at some point.

Been watching full metal alchemist brotherhood on Netflix. Just finished what they have (through S3 and no movies) so I'm not really sure where to go next. It's the first anime show I've actually enjoyed and I'm getting addicted to it.

On Netflix I would recommend. "Better off Ted" and "Pulling" both comedies with only 2-3 seasons.

I am also looking to get into horror movies and will be streaming "Session 9" and "The Orphanage" once I find a girl to watch it with as that is really the only way to watch a horror movie.

For books, I just ordered a bunch of wilderness survival books. I finished reading "Raid on the Sun" which is about Israel's attack on Iraq's nuclear reactor. Also reading some investment books which suck but since I make money and you are forced to do something with that money, I might as well learn.

I have been playing WoW again but my server is dead so that sucks. Waiting for GTA5, CoH 2, RE6.

I've had the Friends, Married with Children, Scrubs and That 70's Show box sets for sometime and I'm going through all the seasons. I watch an episode of whichever I feel like whenever I have a chance. Also watching Forced Vengeance (starring Chuck Norris) and The Beastmaster, coincidently they are both from 1982. Plus I'm reading a book on Egyptian history.
On that last note and this being the mailbag I have a question for Nick: why Ninja Nick Tan, shouldn't it be Kung-Fu Nick or something? Aren't you betraying your heritage?
