What Are You Playing? April 14th, 2012

Posted on Saturday, April 14 @ 12:22:16 Eastern by

How many achievement points are left in Fez? I'll probably finish that up. Like a bad habit, my achievement addiction kicks in right in time for the slow season. It's like some environmental cue is telling me "hey, you could just get all of them."

So I will, then I'll play more Devil May Cry HD Collection, and probably get more time in on Persona 3 Portable. Anyway,

What are you playing?

Found out a couple of my coworkers play SC2 so I've been playing a few games with them. Other than that a little bit of TOR and Skyward Sword.

Been playing Sine Mora. Man, that game is difficult. Just got Fallout for free and bought Fallout 2 for $3, so those will be taking my time. A little BF3 and MW3 here and there.

Got Fallout 1, Torchlight, and Magic Online on my netbook this past week. Need to put some time in with those, but I'll probably just end up playing some ME3 multi for the free character and then read a little.

The Witcher. Going to buy and download The Witcher 2 on the 17th (or should I say buy and download and download and download and download and download and download and download and download ...)

I want to buy it on gog.com so the money goes to CD Project Red (the developer and sister company of gog.com) and not to a bunch of other people.

Silent Hill HD Collection - SH2 at the moment. Never played the puzzles on hard for PS2 so it's actually a little refreshing. The monsters aren't as scary as they used to be :) It's the environments that **** me up though!

Right now I'm trying to finish Adventure Island for the NES. The farthest I've been so far is 4-2, this **** is seriously hard.

Awesome game right there. I only got to play it on X-Box 360 but it was definitely my top game of 2011. Even better than Skyrim!

Dragon Age: Origins for the third time. This is the first time that I've played as mage, it took a little getting used to, but then I picked up Arcane Warrior and things got very comfortable. What can I say, I like to hit things.

Replaying FF13. I just suddenly felt the urge to give it another go. This game gets a lot of undeserved criticism, seriously.

I got Freespace 2 from GOG.com, and honestly for the 3 dollars it cost me (and then another 16 for a joystick) it is one of the best gaming purchases to be had - it has been so extensively modded that there is basically unlimited content for it, including the entire 1st game that has been converted to the new engine. Also, it works on my mac, which is a huge plus :)

Freespace is still the game I would point at if I HAD to pick a favorite game. Well both. Oh no, I can't decide between them!

Finished ME3.... I don't see what everyone was *****ing about.... aside from some serious issues with the character you play without a save file I was impressed with it.... have to start from the beginning... probably do that sometime this week....

Call me old fashioned, but I've been playing Pokemon Crystal and Ruby. Ever since I discovered the existence of Game Boy emulators on my phone it's consumed quite a few hours of my time. It's fun to reminisce.

Is it just me or is Devil May Cry 1 easier in the HD Collection compared to the old version? Half the bosses kicked my ass so much before, and now I plowed through the game without dying a single time...

I can't really say as I don't even have a PS3, but DMC1 was never really all that hard. I couldn't even finish it as a kid but after playing it again like a year and a half ago I was surprised how easy it was.

I have a feeling there is a higher green orb drop ratio than in the old version... maybe the remaster is based on an easier Japanese version?
It's kind of weird that a game that kicked the **** out of me for over a decade suddenly becomes easy when a remastered version comes out. It hasn't been that long since I last played the game... I'm not complaining, mind you, it took me eleven years to finish that damn game outside of Easy-Auto mode.

Oh god when I was a kid I couldn't even finish it on easy auto. I think I gave up at the underwater bit with the speargun because my TV was terrible and I couldn't see anything.

I won't be playing for awhile. Developed some wrist tendonitis from weight lift, gaming, and work computer. So Im going to take a break and heal. Not exercising will be harder than not gaming.

I've been tryin' to get some friends to play SC2 with, but right now I'm hitting up Final Fantasy 14. It ain't so bad, though I'm eager for patch 2.0.

SWToR was broke with 1.2, so lots of FF13. Also got Journey, waiting for a long period that I can do a straight playthrough like suggested.
