What Are You Playing? April 28th, 2012

Posted on Saturday, April 28 @ 10:36:35 Eastern by

I don't know how people can do it. I commuted to LA and back twice this week and I was too busy screaming at the other cars to catch my exit. Seriously, fuck everyone else who drives a car near me. Anyway, I'll be spending my weekend in bed, napping, or on the couch, napping.

If I do play games I'll be snoring and the character on screen will be doing the whole tapping-foot thing waiting for me to make an input. That means Persona 3 Portable, the Hybrid Beta, or possibly Batman: Arkham City, but...

What are you playing?

I just started playing Witcher 1 and I'm enjoying it a fair bit. I like the story and exploration better than the combat. How is 2 different than 1?

No three styles of sword fighting just fast hit (left mouse) hard hit (right mouse) and no little fire swords or combos. Way too many QTE if you ask me. Fist fighting is now a QTE. Arm wrestling. Dice redone. The graphics of course. More NPC models. Different monsters. The dialog does not kick you out, you have to quit. They added intimidation and the Axii sign sometimes can be used in a conversation. The crafting of swords, armor, and other stuff added. You can only use potions in meditation. You can mediate anywhere it's safe to. One and only one attribute gain per level up. and more.

ME3 Multiplayer and Fallout 1. I take back everything I ever said about Fallout 3 not being turn-based strategy when it was first announced. I forgot how freaking long it takes to do anything.

This weekend I'm playing the "moving out to a new house" game, it's quite the excersice, and also has a lot of IAP, like many iPhone games :). After I'm done with that game, I expect to have already setup my Internet to digitally buy MK Vita on Tuesday when it is released.

I put in all my old Demo CD's that used to come with my game magazines. I could play these for hours and never even needed a game.

Grandia II and Xenosaga Ep 1. I've been going back to previous gens classics a lot lately, and it's awesome. Any suggestions?

My suggestion? Keep it up! Just got Xenosaga Ep. 1 back recently but not much time when cycling Gladius and Rogue Galaxy. Oooh! I suggest Suikoden. I always suggest Suikoden.

Persona 3 FES, Catherine and Skyrim for now. If I can actually be arsed to put my old PS2 games on eBay and sell them quickly, I might be getting myself a sweet Vita soon.
