What Are You Playing? December 15th, 2012

Posted on Saturday, December 15 @ 10:30:00 Eastern by

I'll be spending time at home this weekend, but I'll be doing my best to process and relax following everything that's happened, not just in the past week but in the year. Typically the later part of the year inspires introspection and contemplation, but I think there's a lot to consider. I'm drawn to the more melancholy parts of Shoji Meguro's Persona series soundtracks at times like these.

I'll be playing games, maybe Guild Wars 2 or more Persona 4 Golden. Share your game plan in the comments below as usual!

What are you playing?

Related Games:   Guild Wars 2, Persona 4 Golden

I don't have the money to get a whole lot of newer games (outside my Steam wallet), so I'll be spending time with my old collection of classic - and not-so-classic - titles, like the Commander Keen series, the Space Quest series, the Ace Attorney games, the Mega Man X Collection. That and probably dinking around in Terraria.

I'm also going to try trawling for deals on the Steam Market, because spend more money than I ever should on TF2 crap.

I'll probably start playing Ico Shadow of the Colossus Collection more after I finish Uncharted 3. I need concentration for a classic game like that. Again, thanks Anthony.

You should play Nocturne or the other Shin Megami Tensei games after you finish Persona 4, Daniel. Though they're extremely hard to find nowadays.

I've been playing Brutal Doom mod for Doom. Pretty freaking violent.

Walking Dead and BlOps II. I've found that as long as I don't play CoD for too long, I enjoy it for more than a couple weeks. All the previous CoD titles (with the exception of Modern Warfare 2) I've gotten bored with after less than a month.

I'll probably play through TWD more than once.

Just got back from seeing The Hobbit, it was good, but not amazing. Some of the changes added to the story, others detracted. For $5.50, I'd say I got my monies worth. As to gaming, I'm about to hop on to Mechwarrior Online and test out my new Awesome build. After that, I may look into that backlog that just keeps getting bigger.

I like it. So far it's still in beta, so there are is still only one game mode and not nearly enough maps, but it's fun. The devs actually listen to the community and are pretty active about taking care of balance issues when they arise. I've thought about doing a write for you guys, but I'm far too lazy to actually do it.

Skyrim... again. Just got it on PC recently for the amazing mod community, some seriously talented people making endless amounts of free content. Strongly recommend anyone who has considered this to not think twice, Steam makes it ridiculously easy to download mods. Definitely worth the repurchase for me. Playing a Khajiit 2H Light armor this time. :D

Itching to get started on Borderlands 2, on top of the backlog.

Attempted to play Planetside 2. I dont know what we were doing exactly, or if we were winning, I didnt see where to get vehicles which seemed to be sparse. Then I got lost, found out where I was, and hung out in a building in an enemy base that apparently none of the enemy use. I think I shot 8 people... died more times than Ive had birthdays, I cant even say if I liked or disliked it. Is this disorientation what 70/80 year olds feel like when they walk into the electronics section of a Best Buy?

Original 3ds with gamepad controller attachment. I cant believe how good the game looks and the enemies are fantastic. I was fighting the boss who says mayday repeatedely and screamed because another zombie came up behind me while i was firing at the boss. I also love the fact i have only seen silent hill type zombies (no human type zombies to be seen yet) when im at work i hook my 3ds to truck stereo when we got a long drive

and ps also tell nick I beat mgs3d without the game pad on hard I only needed it at the end to snipe the bombs on the bridge... And I already got halfway through hardest difficulty without gamepad (your game ends if you are seen)

Devil May Cry HD Collection as an early Xmas present I got from the family. Age of Conan is actually a pretty interesting MMO that isn't boring. Dead Space 2 (PC), Far Cry 3 (PC), Hitman: Absolution (PC), Skyrim Dawnguard expansion (PC), Blood II: The Chosen and Thief 2 from the GoG.com Xmas sale. I also have Resident Evil 6 from gamefly...definitely not as good as RE4 or 5. I don't know what the hell Capcom was thinking on that one.

I beat the 1st game, couldn't beat the 3rd, and was scared to touch the 2nd because of all the bad reviews. That was so long ago, I think I beat DMC1 back in 2004 or 5 and I tried out the original version of DMC3 and it was too damn hard. Special Edition was easier, but still too hard. I think I will finally beat it this time around.

Finally playing Sleeping Dogs now that I finished Dishonored - which was a ton of fun but a bit thin on story. Sleeping Dogs is the best open-world game I've played since RDR... it lets me feel like both an undercover cop and a HK action star at the same time!

It's amazing! The PC version has amazing DirectX 11 visuals. I honestly think GTA5 has a lot to learn from Sleeping Dogs. The first in it's genre to have good hand-to-hand combat as well! Freaking love that game. It's ironic how it's actually True Crime 3 with a different name. The first two games were abominations.

I'm in between. I should have an incentive to finally beat the original BioShock, since I got BioShock 2 and Rayman Origins for $5 each a couple of days ago (after I played a bit last night, I may just give Rayman to my sister and brother-in-law, since they like quirk more than I do) and Infinite looks interesting. But I should also finish up the last part of Max Payne 3 (after a while, the onslaught of guys just wears on me, even if it is initially awesome). Decisions, decisions...

Do you agree that the first BioShock was better than the second? The second game was so disappointing in the sense that it was essentially the same exact game. I read the art book with the collector's edition and they had SO MANY awesome ideas and scrapped them all because they were afraid it would break the game.

Skyrim and Halo 4 still. Today I went to EB with the intention of talking to the cute blonde girl that works there, but being the shy little wuss i am, I need to have an excuse to do it. I was seriously considering buying ZombiU just for the sake of being served by her so I could at least get a 'hi' in, but i'm not prepared to do that for 90 (australian) dollars (which I think would be about $50 US maybe?). But yeah, if I do eventually decide to do it I will be playing plenty of that game.

I am inbetween games right now. Just beat P4 Golden and it was amazing, my persona GOTY and i do not think i could go back to vanilla without it feeling like there would be a huge hole in the story. Also 100 percented Lego Lord of the Rings.

Probably gonna jump into Hitman and finish that soon, was gonna do that this weekend but with work and The Hobbit, probably not gonna happen.

Saints Row the Third. Was one heck of a deal for everything in the game on Gamefly, even though I already owned it through the THQ Humble Bundle. Still, was cheaper getting all the DLC that way than through Steam, and I got plenty of other games from the bundle to go through eventually as well.

I'm playing "Writing three papers for next week". It's really immersive. It's almost as if I'm tearing my hair out for real!

Though one of the papers is on Valve's employee handbook, so it's kinda sorta gaming related.
