What Are You Playing? January 14th, 2012

Posted on Saturday, January 14 @ 11:04:10 Eastern by

I have to admit I feel like my SNES arrived on Friday the 13th for a reason. I spent quite a bit of time looking at eBay listings, trying to find the perfect system at the right price. I feel like the pictures were a little misleading.

Listen to the video later and pay attention. Pinpoint the moment my voice drops in disappointment. Seriously, you'll be able to tell what I'm talking about.

Regardless, I'm playing Killer Instinct, possibly with my younger brother, hoping desperately for a modern day revival as good as Mortal Kombat. Did you know that spellcheck thinks I meant wombat? My brother, my mom, and my dad are coming to town for the extended weekend, so that's the extent of my gaming, but let me ask you...

What are you playing?

I keep saying I'm going to play other things, but all I've played lately is NBA 2K12. So, more of that.

More Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword for me. I have played it for 48 hours and just got the master sword last night. I am digging it. Once I beat that, Uncharted 3 is waiting for me.

Need for Speed Most Wanted (GC): I'm having a difficult time coping with the sh*tty graphics.
The Legend of Zelda a Link to the Past (GBA): some people argue that this game has not aged well, to which I wholeheartedly disagree. On the other hand, there are those who argue this is the best Zelda of all time, and I'm sorry, but no f*cking way! As great as it is, it doesn't even come close to the magnificence of OoT. It's a matter of tastes I know. Oh, and the SNES version is much better.
These two should last me at least a couple of weeks.

I just killed Alduin. I still have a ton of stuff left to do in the Skyrim (it's absurd how much content they packed into this game by the way), but I've gotten to the point where I can stop and not feel like I missed out on anything. Next up, AC:R. I also have L.A. Noire that I picked up on Steam for twelve bucks, and Saint's Row the Third, that I also picked up on Steam (I had a 50% off any THQ game coupon). So, I've got a good bit of gaming to keep me busy.

I guy at work recommended that I read the Dresden Files, so I bought the first few books used. I'm rather enjoying them. It definitely falls into the light reading category, but it does cut into my gaming time.

On a sad side note... I had to get rid of Skyrim... It was causing serious issues with the wife and as much as I like games I like free ***** better (The paid for stuff makes me feel dirty)...
