E3: PC or rather about the lack of it

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

What Are You Playing? June 2nd, 2012

Posted on Saturday, June 2 @ 10:00:00 Eastern by

It's all portables all the time this weekend for the GameRevolution and PlayStation Lifestyle staff. I've got a Vita with Resistance: Burning Skies (that goddam platinum is so close I can taste it, stupid compulsion, stupid shitty game) and a dev build of Gravity Rush.

Of course, I'm also planning on finally putting the final nail in the coffin for Persona 3 Portable. Any hope I had of playing a little Persona 4: Golden at E3 next week was destroyed by some insider Nintendo appointments. Out with the good, in with the good, I guess, but...

What are you playing?

Friend showed me a waypoint exploit in Diablo 3. So instead of farming Act 1 Inferno, my friends and I are farming Act 4 Inferno. That reads as about as much fun as it is.

Yeah. I'm about to head out for about 2 hours, but if you'll send me your battletag via pm, or post it here, whatever, I'll be in touch. You have to grab the waypoint again after each time you log out but I can also show you how to do it.

    Lego Star Wars 3. Yup.

I'd like to get Diablo 3, but I don't think my computer could run it too well.

I'd like to take this opportunity to reiterate a point I made in a thread a few weeks back: Dead Money will be a drain on your soul and your will to live. If you have it, I recommend just sucking it up and doing that one first to get it out of the way. The rest of the DLC is fairly enjoyable; especially Old World Blues. The writing and voice acting for that one left me in stitches at a few points.

I was actually right in the middle of Dead Money when I stopped playing. It took some doing, but I finally sat down and finished it so I could get the hell out of there and back ro the wasteland.

Thoughts on the DLC? I haven't bought it yet. Worth it for a diehard fan of the Arkham City proper?

You know, I was actually thinking of you when I finished the DLC. I think it is, despite its relatively short length. I actually wanted to go through it again but did not see a way to turn up the difficulty.

I actually don't have any of the Nightwing or Robin challenge maps either, so maybe I should just wait for a sale.

It improves on Arkham Asylum in almost every way. I do miss the more story-driven feel of AA, but the fact that I generally do not like sandbox games but love AC is a testament to just how good the game is. I also love how they used many of the same voice actors from the Batman animated series.

Finished AC: Revelations story mode today, and I'll probably run around getting achievements for about another day. But I have to admit I'm a little irked that after 4 games, the story still hasn't come together yet. I'm worried that 3 still won't clear things up.

Yeah, I was disappointed in Revelations lack of... well, revelatory information. I really hope ACIII pushes the plot forward in a more significant way. The ending of Brotherhood kept my thirst for more up, but Revelations didn't do much to quench it.

Max Payne 3. just finished the campaign. it was kinda sad, knowing that my time as Max Payne had come to an end. the game turned out to be everything i'd hoped it to be.
it's been a long time since i've played an action/shooting game that had such an engaging story and protagonist. good job, Rockstar, i knew you would not fail me.

i tried the multiplayer for a bit and quite liked it. so when i have time i'll be going back to that. from first glance it seems like a decent multiplayer, not just an add on to the main game.

How fast did you go through the campaign? Were you spacing it out or did you do it in few sittings?

I find that, when I first played L.A. Noire, I thought it was great, and eventually looking back I just started hating it. Max Payne 3 I thought was good, not great, but now I look back and think it's better than I originally thought.

i did it in maybe 4 or 5 sittings. the way the game flowed made it difficult to put down, what with the absence of loading screens at all. felt like i was being forced into every part, but not necessarily in a bad way. kind of like when you're out drinking, think maybe it's time to go, then your mate puts a fresh drink in front of ya. 'oh ok, one more then.' then you wake up somewhere strange trying to remember what happened.

Dragon's Dogma has me hooked. I have put down Mass Effect 3 muliplayer for two weekends now. downloaded the most recent dlc and got the Vorscha but think they need to revise the store/"pack" system. I don't mind the randomness but you should be able to pay a premium amount of credits for specific items. After a while, much like Daniel you just get frustrated playing for several hours to get several packs with no characters and some weapon upgrades to weapons you don't use. Now having your first dragon with about 7 life bars hand your ass to you over a 30-45 minute period is pretty sweet.

Just killed my first griffin which also gave a level of satisfaction and accomplishment seldom found in ME3 multiplayer. My PSN is the same as my GR tag so if you need a level 30 something Stider soon hit me up. Pawn->fighter->warrior->strider (almost at strider as maxed fighter and 1 away from warrior. After strider moving to ranger).
