What Are You Playing? March 10th, 2012

Posted on Saturday, March 10 @ 09:14:36 Eastern by
I'm way too tired to play games this weekend, much less post this from my computer. It's all the way over there and my bed feels way too good. I have a PlayStation Vita with Unit 13 that needs to be reviewed. Possibly the entire galactic population's perilous situation in Mass Effect 3 will motivate me. Also sleep. More sleep.

What are you playing?

ME3. Doing the single player. Dunno if I'll try out the multiplayer or not. I didn't buy the game for multiplayer.

I am totally bewildered by the many comments I'm seeing on the internet of "I won't even try the multiplayer." It's really freaking good, and you already payed for it!

I'm actually deciding between buying either Tales of Graces f or SSX. Anyone want to offer me a tip? I've never played Tales before and I wasn't too impressed with the SSX demo.

The Tales series is great, although they do flog it to death. That shouldn't bother you though since you've never played a Tales game before. The demo for SSX is very representative of the full game so don't buy that.

I bought Borderlands GotY from Steam too. Platinuming it on PS3 just wasn't enough, I guess.

Mass effect 3 here as well. But no multiplayer for me. I need to do a few of the awful N7 missions before the final mission.

I am finally playing Alan Wake's American Nightmare. I am liking it so far. While it does focus more on action than I'd like, I still think it has some pretty good atmosphere to it.

Resistance 3. Looks like third time was the charm as far as the single-player campaign went. Everything is just a TON of fun, and the art direction is just miles above the series' prior entries. I was pretty skeptical of the A- GR review after playing 1 and 2, but now I get it.

Honestly I had never played a resistance game before 3, so I didn't have much to compare to. Still, I felt like it was a fun, worthwhile experience with a ton of guns. What'd you pay for it? It must be getting decent discounts at this point.

Hell, Resistance 2 is my single most-hated PS3 exclusive title. Hated passionately. Yet the third entry is one of the funnest shooters I've played in a while.

I picked up Rift again for the one year anniversary. I'll be playing that on and off for the next month or so, then I'll probably get tired of it again. They did implement Ember Isle (a solid expansion pack worth of content for free) since I played the game so I have a bit new stuff to play around with.

Currently playing Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. Finished up the Butcher Bay campaign last evening. Not a bad deal: 2 games for the price of 1, with a nice graphical overhaul on the original.
Aside from that, playing Battlefield 3 fairly frequently and I manage to squeeze in a couple of hours of SW:TOR now and then.
Waiting with ME3, I'm holding out for when there is more DLC available (which is bound to happen) and then I sweep it up in one nice package deal.

Red Dead Redemption, after a long hiatus (1st Gen xbox ate up the save file after it RRoD'd).

No chance to recover to save-file after getting the new machine? There is this nifty little cable that allows for transfers of old drives to new (slim edition) ones.

If the RRoD occured during saving your game, it might very well be that you can still recover data from an auto-save point. Or if it affected the auto-save: from a hard save.

    Just saying.
