What Are You Playing? October 6th, 2012

Posted on Saturday, October 6 @ 10:30:00 Eastern by

I got a sweet taste of my most anticipated title of the entire year yesterday. Assassin's Creed III is three weeks away, but Ubisoft saw fit to give me a taste yesterday in a multiplayer event. I can't say... well, anything about the game, but obviously I WISH I were playing more this weekend.

Instead, I'm heading into Revelations multiplayer to brush up on some skills that were... severely rusty yesterday. I didn't exactly embarass myself, but I didn't make Momma and Papa assassin proud. I'd also like to play some more Sound Shapes this weekend ahead of a busy week revolving around Dishonored and XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

What are you playing?

FTL, Torchlight, Bit.Trip Runner, and the Xcom demo. Also trying out the rest of the games from the Humble Indie Bundle but nothing that's grabbed my attention yet.

Just finished Warhammer Space Marine. The cutscenes are a lot more epic then your normal cutscenes and they are all rendered in the engine so the whole game at a buttery smooth 120fps made the game a real enjoyable experience.

Now Im playing Red Faction Armageddon and waiting for dishonored.

I love Relic due to CoH's, though the demo to Space Marine didnt quite sell me on the game. Do I need to play a bit more to start to enjoy? (I died alot in the demo.)

Torchlight 2, Borderlands 2, FTL. Also picked up Homefront from the discount bit and now I want the name and address of the retarded monkey that designed turret controls for this game....I solemnly swear to make that bastards death so slow, painful and utterly completely inhumane that just reading about it in newspaper will force people into PSD therapy...other than that its ok, the battle for Golden Gate Bridge feels more like war than any CoD did since CoD2.

the setting is great. really makes the statement. its the little things that are annoying (like the fact you cant pick up enemy weapons/ammo) or just straight infuriating (see the comment above for the turret rant).

I'm not really sure how to transfer them to cloud so I'd say no.... But I would think I still have my original save file on my Xbox HDD. My PC file isn't too far into the game, only about 10 hours, but it sucks to be taken out of the file you're playing and have to start a new one, no matter how far in.

By the way, there are some pretty good deals this week I'll share with you guys.

Darksiders II is $18.75 on Amazon right now with the (one time use) OCTOFUN1 code at check-out.

Spec Ops: The Line is $7.49 $5.99 (with code 2GFT82012) through Gamefly. Steam game so you're still just buying the Steam activation code.

Also, if you can manage to walk in to a Toy 'R Us they have Diablo III for $9.98.

I have played about an hour of Black 2, and to me it seems to have more differences than the other 3rd Versions did. It actually almost feels like a whole new game so far. So far the first two towns i have been to are new, new first gym leader, and the story is new. Though for some reason i am not as psyched to play this compared to how i was when Platinum came out. I think for that to happen again Pokemon needs to have a main game on 3DS.

And maybe play a huge backlog of games...[Mass Effect 2 (maybe 10% finished), Skyrim (maybe half way?), Dark Souls (J/K Im selling this), Valkyrie Chonicles (2 levels left), there might be 1 or 2 more.]

I CANT WAIT TO PLAY MASS EFFECT 3!!!
hopefully i will be getting it later this year...

I feel they really stripped a lot of depth from the RPG side of ME2 but they more than made up for it in story and characters! i thought the story was nothing short of EPIC... and... the cast of characters was far better than ME1... on top of that they really improved: movement, shooting & cover mechanics...

did ME3 return some of the stripped elements??? did they add anything else? or is it more of the same?

There are some elements that are returned, like nuance in the skill point system. If you can believe it, the movement, shooting, and cover mechanics are even FURTHER improved in ME3.

Nice! I play Circle Orboros, maybe I'll catch you at an event sometime. I want to hit Lock & Load this year.

It's possible! We'll see in the next few months. It depends on Microsoft's next-gen plans I suppose. They may not want to spend the money bringing it over.

if it happens... do you think it would be a retail game or a arcade game?

Been on a pseudo-retroey kick lately, just finished playing through Shadow of the Colossus (HD PS3 port) for the first time; was blown away by how well it has aged, incredibly mad at myself having never checked it out last generation. Just started Hitman: Blood Money having never gotten into the series before after numerous recommendations and having a blast with it as well!

    BATTLEFIELD 3 and MORTAL KOMBAT.

I'm MURDERING people on Xbox Live MK...everyone is scared of me cause I have a 4 -1 win ration in tag and a 3 -1 ratio in ranked single matches.

Battlefield 3 is my favorite game - takes up about 20 GB on my hard drive and I love flying helicopters and spawn killing.
