DAILY MANIFESTOWhat Class Will You Play In Diablo III?Posted on Sunday, May 13 @ 12:18:32 Eastern by Jonathan_Leack
![]() Diablo III is only two-days from release, and now the time has come to make the big decision: what class will you play? There are going to be five classes available on Diablo III's launch, and they range wildly in gameplay style and technique. Each has its own resource system, armor sets, voice actor, and more. Below you will find the name of each class along with a brief excerpt of what the class is about. Wizard Wizards are renegade spellcasters who use their bodies as vessels for arcane energy, forsaking the more careful path favored by other magic users. They manipulate all manner of forces to disintegrate, burn, and freeze their foes, and they can control time and light to teleport, create powerful illusions, and deflect oncoming attacks. You'll love this class if: you prefer to bring a spellbook of magic to a knife fight. This class is similar to: Harry Potter. Witch Doctor Witch doctors are spiritual warriors who summon dead souls and crawling creatures to do their bidding. By surrounding themselves with conjured zombies and vermin, witch doctors are free to assault their enemies with exploding skulls, acrid poison clouds, and wasting curses. You'll love this class if: you own voodoo dolls. This class is similar to: Dhalsim (Street Fighter). Demon Hunter Demon hunters are relentless vigilantes who execute their infernal targets with an arsenal of ranged weapons. They crouch and take aim far from danger, relying on bows, deadly traps, and projectiles to swiftly bring an end to the creatures that haunt their world. You'll love this class if: you hate demons and want to hunt them. This class is similar to: Neo (The Matrix). Barbarian Barbarians are savage wanderers who never flinch from close-quarters combat. Mighty ground stomps, leaping attacks and dual-wielded slashes leave a barbarian’s enemies dead in their boots and send any survivors fleeing for cover. You'll love this class if: you wish you were one of the 300 Spartans. This class is similar to: The Hulk. Monk Monks are sacred warriors who channel divine power through sheer force of will. Healing waves, mantras of protection and attacks empowered with holy might are all within their purview. You'll love this class if: you breakdance in your spare time. This class is similar to: Raptor Jesus. Keep in mind you can make several characters, but if you want to complete the campaign and level them all up it's going to take you a while. For that reason I'm going to be making one character and complete the entire game with it before even considering an alternate character. As far as which class that is going to be I'm torn between the Witch Doctor and Demon Hunter. I've been playing a melee class in World of Warcraft for the past few months and would like a change of pace. So, what about you? Even if you aren't getting the game at launch, feel free to share which class you would play as in the comments below. Comments

Surprisingly, there is no real "rogue" class above. The Demon Hunter is the closest one to it it seems just due to using ranged weaponry, but it feels a bit beefier than most rogues are.

Did anyone else on the open beta think it strange that some of the classes like the monk ignore their equipped melee weapon because all their main attacks dont use it?
