What's The Best Gaming-Related Gift You've Ever Received?
Posted on Friday, April 8 @ 11:32:19 Eastern by danielrbischoff
I turned 23 on Wednesday and found myself in a bit of a predicament. I've been getting video game-related gifts for most of my life. I got a Game Boy when I turned five, I was a Nintendo 64 kid one Christmas, and I've gotten games ranging from Yoshi's Story to Assassin's Creed II.
Getting games for birthdays and holidays has slowed as a trend. My parents have given up altogether. Now I only see socks and underwear from them. Part of the problem is that I head right out and buy any games I really want. It doesn't help that half of them are now work-related. What's a gamer to do?
This year, I moved into a new apartment with space for a desk. Enter the gaming-related desk toy. My girlfriend picked this knit Sunflower off of Etsy. Opening the smiling Plants vs. Zombies paraphernalia on Wednesday put a big smile on my face. We've all gotten gaming stuff from friends and family before. What's the best game or game-related gift you've ever gotten?

Your story sounds like it could be about me. I suspect about many gamers. When I was young and had no money, Christmas and Birthday's were all I had to look forward to for new games. Then I got older, started working, and just bought all the games I wanted. I also get socks and underwear now from the folks... though that's probably a good thing, I'm not sure if I'd have bought them myself...
Happy birthday!
Well, imagine my surprise when they managed to find one of the few PS3's in town, just by pure chance mind you, and that was the contents. So yeah, that was the best gift I've gotten.
Oh, and happy birthday.
Definitely going to check that book out!
