Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

When Will Vita Play Super Nintendo Games?

Vita Super Nintendo Emulator

Sony is about to release a new system, which no doubt means gamers are anxiously, feverishly waiting to find out one thing: Will it play Super Nintendo games?

Such has been the true test of virtually every gaming platform since the mid 1990s, beginning with PC-based emulation and continuing to systems including both Xboxes, the PSP, and most recently, the PlayStation 3. Verily, the whole internet came alive to see Donkey Kong Country running on a PS3. No doubt, modders will be tearing open the new handheld ASAP to deliver this Vita-l function.

"If you can think of another way to play Super Nintendo games I'd like to hear it," said some fuckin' guy. "I'll buy a Vita once it can run SNES ROMs."

Proof! 20 years later and the SNES is still the top selling video game console!

If by top selling console you mean most hacked and pirated console where nobody makes any money from then I think you're right on point. I personally think it's proof that people like nostalgia just as much (if not more) as we love our most powerful technology.

Did you take me serious? I'd suggest a KitKat break and a rethink.

If you do, there's no better way to go than the Ginger Ale Kit Kat:

man when will this people give up?!

people really love junk don't they? and they will carry it with them til the day they die!

They buy games on a system, next better system comes up and they want the next system to be backwards compatible with the old system games. 2 years later another system will arrive and they would want that system to play 4 year old games.

Same thing applies to emulator junkies. Man every system that comes out they keep making it play emus, yet each system uses different save system. Is not as if the save state they left off from xbox softmod SNES would work on a Vita hack SNES. They should just stop this trash man.
I was like that, always trying to get emu to work on my system, in the end I don't even play them because I don't have time to. These people never have time to play the old games, they just want to have it.

And when they die they will carry all their time wasting junk with them.

That's why I have a Genesis, SNES, and PS1 emulator on my Android phone so i can whip it out whenever I want. I don't think I'll be emulating on the Vita anytime soon. Also, my PSP has been on my shelf for almost a year. I think the PSP was dead years ago.
