REVIEWSGRiD 2 Review
Grid 2 surprised me. I was going through the motions, getting used to the cars and their handling, when suddenly something happened. I started having fun.
State of Decay Review
Undead Lab's zombie-infested action title has finally hit XBLA. Is it worth a few of your precious Microsoft Points, or should you whack it over the head with a two-by-four and continue on your merry way?
LATEST FEATURESXbox 180 And The New Coke
Did Microsoft just pull a 1985 Coca-Cola on the world? Was the "Xbox 180" an eleborate marketing scheme? I examine.
E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Why Any Game Would Work with the Wii U
Posted on Thursday, June 9 @ 03:30:35 Eastern by Nicholas Tan
I see this being a fail. Thanks to Nick for actually being a published game writer and saying this, I know how a lot of them will just be those guys who will defend this and keep posting updates on it.
Seriously, tho, I think this is pretty neat. They listened to us ***** about how much we hated not having a controller, so they gave us one. It has a screen on it. Why are we complaining? The Dreamcast controller had a screen on it, and all we do is pooh-whine about how that system should have never gone away...
The dreamcast didnt have a screen in teh controller, the memory cards had a screen, and a tiny crappy one at that which isnt comparable to this AT ALL.
I'm still more concerned about the circle pads than the screen. The screen has obvious potential, but circle pads are inferior to analog sticks period. I've tried out the 3DS circle pad and if it's anything like that, forget about it. All that renewed third party support won't matter if it plays that much better with a Sony or Microsoft controller.
It has a niche and may be able address the issues with having to streamline RTSs for the console but I can't see playing a MK, Soul Calibur, or Tekken for any prolonged period of time with a controller like this. Also may be nice with RPGs but for games where you are constantly needing to do precise finger movements e.g. fighting games I don't think it will work as well
This could be good or bad depending on how insistent developers are on using it. The problem with the Wii, was that devs kept trying to use the motion censor in games where it wasn't needed, and was actually a hurdle to actually being able to control the game. I think the only game I recall doing it right was Mario Galaxy... and that's because it didn't try to go overboard with it... but even that could have just been easily replaced with a button press. So, with this new controller, if Devs keep trying to FIND a reason to use it, and just make it a pain in the ass, as opposed to having a GOOD idea on how to use it... well that'll be a deciding factor probably.
