So Brutal Legend arrived yesterday, which was very bad for my productivity. It was very difficult to hand it off to reviewer Ban Card at the end of the day.

So then i went home and tried to do the Manifesto after dinner, but was denied by our new security measures. Sorry.

So you had to wait an extra day but it's worth it. I know all of you have been asking the question "Where does Game Revolution keep its health packs, ammo, powerups, and assorted valuables?". Embarrassingly it was all just lying around in piles.

But then yesterday, FedEx delivered us our own video game crate! Every game has to have crates, and I immediately decided to use it for cover. GR's start-to-crate ratio promptly went down the tubes.

What would be in the crate? Five gold pieces? A blue key? Some green herb? How would we find out?

"Shoot it!" was the first suggestion, but the bullet just passed all the way through the crate, leaving it pretty much intact. "Smash it with a crowbar!" was next, but no crowbar could be found, so I just pried the top off with my pocketknife.

Unexpectedly, it was full of Squeeballs and a copy of the Wii game which comes out on Friday. How cheerful! I immediately replaced them with 10 rounds of shotgun ammo and sealed the crate back up.

Windows 7 Party Fail - 09/28/09

Windows 7 is actually pretty good, which leaves me even more baffled by this video. Surely Microsoft's video department, which probably costs more than GR's entire annual budget, should have realized how awful this was. It's like a trainwreck, I can't stop watching.   read more...
