Resident Evil is known for being incredibly terrifying, but the also had poor controls. Even with the terrible camera the games became hits because of how they scarred the hell out of you. RE4 fixed the camera and added one hell of a game. The basic premise is you are Leon from RE2 sent to rescue the presidents daughter. And Umbrella was killed off in RE3. But a new group called the "Loss Illuminados" and their "Las Plaga" are the new antagionists.
Gameplay: Always the weak point in Resident Evil games because of the camera like I said. But now that the camera is beautifuly put behind Leon's shoulder really increaces the fun. Also the AI is incredible in here using... more brains than the zombies could making a more challenging game. The "Zombies" fight like real people [with a parasite in them that is] and really challenge you. But Ashley does not shut up and I dont like having to keep finding the little items to open a door. Also the new enviroments that are bigger allow the ennemies to surround you and make you think. And the "Loading" screens have almost been removed. Great Job!
Control: Beautiful. The new camera makes a huge diffrence. You have very fluid movement over Leon. You have a couple buttons you use which you get used to quickly. And the "A" button can be used for several actions like opening doors too catching Ashley. And some cinemas let you use buttons to preform comands to make the game feel more realistic [and keep you busy]. And you can adjust the camera which makes running away from El Gigante easier.
Graphics: Oh sweet mercy this game is beautiful. Never before has blowing a Ganado's head off with a shotgun to reveal a parasetic growth and having yourself decapitated by it been so beautiful. Everything looks incredible, the people look real, the fire looks incredible and the gore is as gorey as gore should be. You could think this is real and no longer will the Cube be called "weak". This game pushed the cube to its limits and proved other developers just don't give a ####. If you see anyone who says "this game looks like crap" then rub their face in some crap and prove em wrong ;).
Replayability: You will want to keep playing and get everything, sadly Capcom betrayed Nintendo and made a PS2 one with more "features''. This is RE4's weak point since it is meant to be played on your own and scare the hell out of you. That dosent work as well the 2nd time. But still it is a great game.
Overall: This is one of the best games on the Game Cube with incredible graphics and control. It will also scare the hell out of you.
