I can't believe i got this game for $10, it may be old, but it was worth that 10 bucks.

The graphics are so-so, not too bad, but they don't have alot of detail and are a bit blocky, even in it's time. The framerate is ( not surprisingly) stable and it can most-likely be runned on a older computer with little or no graphic problems.

The sound is generic, nothing special, with music that repeats often and the sound effects aren't much. They do provide a bit of an atmosphere but aren't the high-point of the game.

The gameplay, is where this game shines. It is immersive, addicting and is very fun. the beginning may feel slow but it's only because the player is beginning to create their empire. It picks up and charges forward, with it's smart A.I, immense amount of technology and the further developement of the world. Each civilization plays different and the difference is noticable when each nation is used. The Americans and Germans have end-game units which are more useful then the other units which are only good for a certain time and some specific bonuses(commerce and expansionist) aren't as useful as others.

The replayability is high due to it's addictiveness and the chance to play as the other civilizations on random maps. Each game played is different from the last one and the terms of victory required to win can also add replayability ( such as cultural and conquest victories).

In the end, it's a must own, either this one or Civilization IV. Just make sure you have patience.
