Overall, DIRT is a good game, but one thing keeps me from calling it a "great" game: the pace notes. After playing the previous Colin McRae games with Nicky Grist as co-driver, it took some getting used to having a new guy with a different style of reading the notes. To me, it makes more sense to hear what gear you should be in for the next corner before you hear which direction you need to turn. In previous games, there is an option to change the language that the notes are read in, but not in DIRT (or maybe they are and I just can't find it, let me know if you know how). And many times, the notes are read very late, often right before you get to the corner with no time to slow down for the blind hairpin. This can be very frustrating, especially on Pro difficulty when every tenth of a second counts. Other than that, very good game.
R.I.P. Colin McRae -- you'll always be my hero
