REVIEWS GRiD 2 Review
Grid 2 surprised me. I was going through the motions, getting used to the cars and their handling, when suddenly something happened. I started having fun.

State of Decay Review
Undead Lab's zombie-infested action title has finally hit XBLA. Is it worth a few of your precious Microsoft Points, or should you whack it over the head with a two-by-four and continue on your merry way?

E3: PC or rather about the lack of it
By Starling
Posted on 06/15/13
E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

What do these ratings mean?

I can't believe GR gave this game an A. Sure, the whole VAT thing is pretty much the first of its kind. And the fighting is so much fun. But there really isn't much to it when it comes to weapon selections. Most of the time, I just use the Chinese Assault Rifle and Combat Shotgun the entire game and still beat it. Surely, your weapons and armor deteriorate over time and needs fixing. Nothing we haven't seen before, really.

Compared to Oblivion, this game lacks a lot in story and depth. No, there is no guilds to join, no there are no horses to ride, or car (Like in FO2). No, you can't modify your weapons and add a sniper scope on your knife. No you can't buy your own house. Sorry, no you can't have sex. (Dammit!). And the list goes on. But this game is pretty much limited, period.

I won't deny the fact that the graphics are awesome. Its such a waste that there isn't much game play to it. The main storyline is awefully short. It feels like the game was made in a hurry, and lacked a lot of substance. Worst of all, when you finish the main quest, the game pratically ends. Yes, you can't do any side quests or roam around after you finish the main quest. So I suggest you take your time and do as many side quests as you want. You'll enjoy the game better that way.

But it gets worst I'm sorry. The highest level you can achieve is level 20. After that, zilch. So even if you go through as many side quests as you want, once you reach level 20, the game becomes quite pointless to play since we do the side quests not just for money and unique rewards, but also for EXP, typical of any R-P-G game. The game offers a huge world, but has huge limitations.

On the weapons and armors point of view, it is also quite shallow. Normally, as you progress through the game, you'd expect better guns and armor. But that's not the fact in FO3. Like I said earlier, you can beat the game with a Chinese Assault Rifle and Combat Shotgun if you're good enough. And maybe throw a frag or two at those mutants. As for the armors, after you managed to train yourself how to use the power armors, that's pratically what you would use the entire game. Seriously, you would. Cuz its the best armor in town already.

Another thing Bethesda took out, which really hurts FO fans, is the item descriptions. In previous fallout games, there is always a description for every item. But in FO3, all you get is condition, damage, weight, and price of every item you have. So boring really. And the longer you play this game, the more you'll notice that people start looking and sounding the same. As if we didn't have enough of that in Oblivion.

To round it all up, I think I've criticized the game more than praised it. I normally don't do that but I'm just so dissapointed and pissed off at a game which took 4 years to develop. Fallout 2 took only one year and it rocked! But I won't deny the fact that its a beutiful game. Great graphics and unique FPS game play. I actually had fun playing the game... until I noticed everything that it lacked.

Of course, I recommend you to buy the game if you aren't such a hardcore FO fan like I am. But if you are, then don't expect too much from the game. Like they say, the higher the expectation, the greater the dissapointment. And I guess thats what I did wrong. Go ahead and buy it guys. Its great game that ought to give you 30 hours or more, of fun, bloody, and beautiful FPS gaming.
