"I am sick and tired of being told that I have to respect everyone’s beliefs. That is simply not true. What I should respect (and you better believe that I do) is your right to believe whatever crazy crap you want to. And that same freedom you get also guarantees me the right to make fun of you for thinking that invisible people live in the sky.
So let me be clear - Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Whatevers – you’re all nuts. There’s really no excuse for it. By the way, if any deities out there are interested, I’m the one wearing the lightning rod hat."
I have not played this game, I periodically review this site for game info, and it's normally very good. I've never played this game so I can't comment on it. Although I was very disturbed when reading this review.
I had to read this comment three or four times. Probably one of the most ignorant things I've read, I'm surprised to even see this comment on a video game review. You have every right to believe what you want, but, it's not right to knock people or call them nuts for simply having faith. It's evident that this reviewer has issues, take the lighting rod hat off and put a sock in it.
Peace

| sorry dude freedom of speech doesnt make you ignorant. speaking ones mind and enjoying ones self at the cost of a stupid group of people (which in all honesty, includes all of the above) is not wrong, but rather a service to the community. if we dont bash these dumb @ss beliefs, who will? |

| Yep, freedom of speech doesn't make you ignorant, its the fact that freedom of speech is abused by ignorant people. The game illustrates a belief system nothing more. You have the right to believe in it or not. As far as I know whether you are religious or non-religious both should be looked at respectfully whether you are tired of it or not. The reviewer should be reviewing the game play in an unbiased manner. You don't have to believe the story, just like you don't have to believe any story in any other game. |

| And why isn't it ignorant to have faith in some outdated deities that were invented back in the days when most humans hardly understood anything that was happening around them? I mean, they didn't even know properly how babies were made, just the overly simple "man meets woman, does stuff, baby eventually comes out" to mention one thing. They just took the existance of a soul for granted without knowing how the brain worked (heck, they believed that the soul resided in what turned out to be a blood pump.)
This game illustrates that kind of ignorance, asserting that there is an afterlife (without evidence), that there is a god (without evidence), that it's the Judeo-Christian god (without evidence), and so on. Why shouldn't it be taken to task for this display of ignorance? Why should we even have to respect that ignorance? |

| Nope, the ignorance is pretty much on the religion's part. Most major religions are based on having faulty ideas of the world, coupled with biased assertions and scare tactics. Is it ignorant to point this out? No. In fact, the ignorance is on the level of the game creators. They assert the existance of a soul separated from the body (without evidence), that there is life after death (without evidence), that there is a god (without evidence), and that this god is pretty much the Judeo-Christian god (without evidence). I'll respect anyone's right to believe in this, but that doesn't mean I have to respect the mind-numbing levels of ignorance that all religions I've studied have so far displayed. |

| One does not require evidence in order to have faith in a deity, a soul or an afterlife. A belief is not ignorance in any sense. The assertion that most religions have faulty ideas coupled with scare tactics is simply your opinion nothing more. As stated above your non-believe in religion should be respected equally. Therefore, you too should not be looked at as a nut. |

| "Why isn't it ignorant to have faith in some outdated deities that were invented back in the days, when most humans hardly understood anything that was happening around them?"
Logically, does it also make any sense that they would continue in this lie while being persecuted, ostracized from family and friends, beaten, imprisoned, and finally killed for what they believed? It makes more sense to believe that their actions were consistent with their teaching. It was based upon the truth that they had witnessed and not the assumption that humans did not know what was occurring around them. This is a mere spec of reason why people take this seriously. Till this day, people's lives have continued to change because of faith, whether it's good or bad religion plays a big part in our society and culture. |

| This entire "review" has been a waste of space. Find the forum and complain there. |

| Criticizing a game for being an over-the-top display of religious extremism is "ignorant" and an "abuse" of freedom of speech? Twisted. Why did you post this mini-rant as a review? It isn't one. |

| Read the review, he is attacking faith as a whole. Whether you are a Christian, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu or believe in any deity, you should "not" be looked at as a nut. My comments were not based on the game but on how the review critized much more than the game itself. This would not have been posted if the reviewer did not rant to begin with. |

| Why shouldn't you be looked at as a nut? Like it or not, we have no right to demand that people respect our beliefs. Respect our **right to believe**, yes, but not the beliefs themselves. Anyway, you're just dodging the issue. His criticism was all in the context of this over-the-top game, and furthermore this is not a forum for your soapbox. This is a forum for game reviews, which makes your comments about his review completely off-topic. |
