For the StarWars X Wing Alliance PC game, as Ace Azzameen you enter his world which is not exactly that of Luke Skywalker.   The two flyers grew up in different familys as one knows Luke's was an adopted family his adopted father and mother were "moisture farmers";  Ace on the other hand grew up in a family that ran a freighthauling business.

The Game play of X-Wing Alliance PC is very good, there is little problems in joystick flying nor the mission flights which you must accomplish.   You are in the ships you must fly, though the family conflicts and "taskmasters" of the Rebel Alliance tend to tick me off sometimes, you can win lots of missions and cover yourself in glory.   I do find that the commanders giving you either your mission briefings or mission debriefings tend to be very angry at you, sometimes they badger the pilot when a mission of their's fails and they have not given the fighter pilots enough protection in the mission and tend to blame the fighter pilots for the commander's mistakes instead of the pilots failing.   Overall X-Wing Alliance is a great game; playing it one can get a true sense of what it may be really like to fly as an young fighter pilot as Ace Azzameen must be.

Ace Azzameen's turn to the Rebellion is fairly predictable with the tragic death of his father and the betrayal of his uncle.   He has to get his sister out of scrapes which her slicing interests get her into, though much of the problems add to Ace's fighting skills and his dedication to the Rebellion's cause.   Anyone that enjoys being a "Han Solo Type" flyer will get the experience in this game for what it must be like to grow up much like Han Solo did, but with a family that only want to see Ace achieve the very best he can.
