What do these ratings mean?

To all who are considering World of Warcraft. Beware. The game is enjoyable enough. But the problem lies with Blizzard Entertainment. Five million users. An income of at least 50 million per month. Yet they will do nothing to improve the infrastructure. The game lags most of the time. I use a 3Ghz PC with a cable connection. Yet very often following a major patch, the game is almost unplayable. For every feature that is added, there are 2 problems created. The developers would rather release and unstable patch rather than fully test it before taking it live. If it's working it's fun. But over the last 5 months, it's been a battle against the lag.

Wait before you buy. Make sure the game is running before you decide to play.

First go into detail plus you arent correct ON SOME SERVERS yes it will lag choose better servers because my comp is on roadrunner 2.2 ghz with a nVIDIA GeForce 6100 Gpu and i dont get lag, i like the interface. By the way it could be frame rate per sec adjust things in the video options lower see if that helps all i got to say.

I've been playing since a long time and the only time I was lagging was when I was downloading porn. My computer isn't a high performance computer nor is my internet connection. The problem probably is that you were far from the server's loaction.

wow to the comments above, fact is blizzard is a huge franchise and they still cant release a smooth patch, The main battleground lags EVERY FIGHT, and thats with both of the servers i play on. The world of warcraft has become somewhat of a joke, those who buy gold online are running a muck, Blizzard also finds new ways to get your hard earned money every month, whether it is an in game pet for donating 10$, or a special mount you get for participating in a "trading card game" If you didnt get into the world when it started, i suggest you do not do it now. Every new patch is just to keep those senior players paying, and when it comes to getting your moneys worth, YOU DONT. All in all, its a grind fest up to lvl 80, and after that most people end up just running around in circles and talking out loud in trade chat. All in all, wow has been taken over by senior players who lost their manners years ago, and its now a BUSINESS rather then a game.
