Tough crowd!
Frankly, I can see why this game was not exactly...err..."cherished" by most critics, but I seem to look at it in an entirely different way.
It's not the most innovative.
It's not the most immersive.
It's AI is like a sponge with shaken-baby syndrome.
It's not realistic in any way shape or form.
But it is FUN. It really is, I can sit in front of my TV and level complex after complex with small-arms fire for hours on end. I have never seen explosions so big, and I certainly have never had so much fun making them. Personally, I am quite amused by such very basic entertainment, but I can see how it would become tiresome to many.
I try to think of this movie as a cheesy action movie. Think of your favourite Segal or Van-Dam movie. Was it realistic? Was it well thought-out? Was it innovative? Of course not. Did it kick copious amounts of ass?
Hell yes, my friends. That's why I like "Black": to me, it is the high-quality, interactive version of a cheesy action flic. And it feels good.
