The game is very fun, and a must buy for any tactics fan. The script for the game is very well written and there is so much to do. The only reason I am not giving this game an A is because there is Lifting and Throwing in this game. Which is where you will pick up a character or monster and throw them; which is cool, don't get me wrong. The only thing is, the game relies on it way to much. Also, you can go inside weapons (I have never played the first Disgaea, so this is all new to me) and fight your way through stages to upgrade the weapon, which is a really nice feature. The bad thing about that is you can't save while doing this. There is an item in the game that brings you back to town from the item, but I don't know where to get them when it isn't a quest reward type item. I end up leaving my ps2 on all the time, because I will start the stages (it takes at least 30min-60mins to clear the 10 stages required) and not be able to finish them. It has been a long time since I have played an RPG where they don't give you some kind of save during a long road of fighting. I can understand a little why they don't let you save during the item world fights. They want you to earn the levels on the item, which really make the weapon a lot better. It does get very exhausting to make all 10 levels without a break.
