Final Fantasy X lived up to quite a few of the expections I've held since I first picked up the controller to guide Cecil on his quest to defeat his brother... but it also fell short in one or two ways... I'll attack my concerns first...
I realize that it takes years to fully develop and debug games for public release... So is it asking juat way too much that they devote at least a chunk of said time to the ironing out of the kung fu style dubbing... This game was the first in the series to utilize voice acting... so it was forgivable... it was however not the first ever... so the programmers were aware that lips should be at least slightly matched to the words they're supposedly forming...
I realize that the story is always the focal point of the Final Fantasies... But does it always have to be the same story... Troubled youth with chip on shoulder finds himself in a seemingly simple task... Finds girl that is mysterious and posesses healing powers (just once the good girl should be a badass and not a whiny crybaby)... Ends up becoming the savior of the universe... That's been the story in every Fantasy... He's usually blonde and blue eyed but thats a whole nother issue...
Other than these two major issues I enjoyed this game so much that I purchased it without owning a PS2... I enjoy the characters and the distraction of blitzball is, in my eyes, great... at one point I had spent more time playing blitzball than the actual game... Over all I have to say that this is the best amongst them all...
